Wow...Mack Brown is hanging in there like a hair in a biscuit! They could fire the guy and he'll probably still show back up in his office, ready to go. Bless his heart....:D

Reminds me of this guy:

Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

Things I've learned tonight:

Saban is most wonderful, honest, virtuous, fantastic man in the world! (He was a guy with a questionable past that should be ending the circus RIGHT NOW and tell us once again how much he loves us!)

Jimmy Sexton is a genius, and if there was an agent HOF, he's be a first ballot selection. (He was previously a piece of scum that trying his best to run Saban to Texas!)

Mack Brown is like Freddy Kruegar, HE KEEPS COMING BACK! (He was previously cleaning out his office and preparing his farewell speech.)

Information from Paul Finebaum and mysterious new message posters are spotty at best. (I thought this info was money in the bank!)

Alabama fans love Nick Saban and trust that he'll retire at Alabama. (Ya know, as long as Mack Brown isn't being rumored to be fired year.)

Bill Battle did a great job making this deal to keep Saban. (He was previously untrustworthy and could very well be the reason Saban may leave us.)

I know more about cedar than I ever thought I would. (I previously thought cedar was pretty much all the same)

I learned what was fracking was. (I previously would have giggled at this word thinking it was something a little more fun!)

I learned that CajunCrimson thinks about Mack Brown while laying in bed. (I think that AU avatar damaged the man!)

Bamaabw won't be revisiting his bold $10M post. (I thought this was a lock for sure.)

And Finally,
I learned that WMack is master of wit and impeccably timed picture messages! (Ok who DIDN'T KNOW THAT???;))

Heard on ESPN radio:

"How does Nick Saban get a pay raise for losing to Auburn?"

We did it on purpose. Just to taunt Texas, one more time, only to rip their heart out, grill it, eat it right in front of them, and belch on them, when we are finished.

When I lived in San Antonio in the '80s and '90s, I learned how the mountain cedars in the Hill Country shoot huge amounts of pollen down into San Antonio. The head pain was so severe, that I wished for amputation!

I love Hawaii Five-O. It is good to hear Alabama news stations have their priorities straight.
Hawaii Five-O is my favorite show on TV now days, I've never seen the older version of the show, my Mom says it was just as good, if not better than the new version..I wish I could watch the older version of Hawaii Five-O..

Saban to Texas was a done deal but Mack Brown got too much Bama in him and wouldn't resign.

Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

Wow, we're super lucky that Mack changed his mind or else Saban would be gone. I bet CNS is disappointed, being stuck in Tuscaloosa...
It's funny you say that.

Living here in Texas, my friend is telling me exactly that. One difference is that my friend says "Mack made a heck of a fight to stay" and they let him stay; as soon as CNS found out, he signed our deal. I'm keeping this in black rather than blue because that is what my friend keeps saying over and over to me (I haven't responded, but he keeps texting me the same thing in different words like he is going through the denial stage of grief). I honestly feel a little bad for him.

Saban to Texas was a done deal but Mack Brown got too much Bama in him and wouldn't resign.
The reason I never thought for a second that Saban to Texas was a 'done deal' was because I never believed that Saban would even entertain the possibility of taking over the position while a colleague was still holding that position. I just could never see Saban having made some back-room deal with UT power brokers in anticipation of Mack Brown getting fired.

What must have happened back in January is that Sexton told the UT representatives over the phone that Saban would only be interested in talking about the UT job if Mack Brown decided to walk away of his own accord. The reason I think this is that the interested parties then immediately asked Mack Brown if he wanted to quit. He said no. They then set in motion a chain of events meant to undermine his support to the extent that he would realize that the only smart thing to do would be to quit. Mack still said 'no, you'll have to fire me.' I think it's become clear to the Powers That Are at UT that the only way they could get rid of Mack would be to fire him...which they apparently don't want to do for some reason.

If Mack ends up staying for another year, I think Saban was the plan all the way.
