Saban signs multi-year extension w/Bama, shorthorns on suicide watch...

Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

I missed this news last night as I was watching Christmas movies with the family while doing a little decorating for the holidays. Very happy for Alabama and the Saban family.

Roll Tide!

Most of the Texas fans who are disappointed have been played, and I feel for them. They were used by selfish people with selfish goals. This part of college football is ugly. Just be happy that you still have Saban and enjoy him as long as he is there.

Oh Lawd Shaggy Bevo is a hoot right now (after the crash was fixed). There are some serious delusion going on over there. Not one of them can imagine anyone turning down the Horns and their money. At least they are starting to move on just a little. Here is a quote from one of them for all the AU lurkers.

"Sources @ Auburn say it has been Gus Malzahn for the last two weeks. $4.25 mill + bonuses. Mack's announcement is pending with the proper mandatory 2 week "coaching search" before the announcement is made. Barners $#@!ting britches, Saban staying, gus leaving not going to be a happy New Year @ Clemson lite."

If you want to be considered a Bama fan, you may have to get your priorities straight ;)

Always check tidefans before bed. Always!

Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

Saban would have signed with Texas if Colt McCoy hadn't got hurt.

A brief look at shaggybevo shows at least one poster thinks this may be true. Also, a few of them are still convinced that Saban's new contract is meaningless and that they still have a shot at him. shaggybevo is like the train wreck you just can't turn away from.

To be fair, a few Alabama fans logged on and decided to rub their noses in it and they started getting defensive. Not good form (on either side), but they are a pretty obnoxious group. It is one of those "nothing is sacred" boards, and now they feel the sting of that policy.

ShaggyBevo is useless for anything other than entertainment. Right now it is just ugly - no one is even trying to be funny. Not worth a visit unless you enjoy the pain of others.

Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

I had a nice supper out with my family last night, came home and went to bed without looking at any news. How sweet it was to awaken this morning and have my barner husband deliver the sweet news!

Good news is always more delicious when delivered from the mouth of those whom it bothers most. ;)

Wow, just ventured over to SB…. what a mess! It's really sad how the UT fan base is acting and treating MB.

Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...

Also, glad to see CNS is now getting paid the same as Bill Bellichek. When has a college coach made as much as the highest paid coach in the NFL? Speaks volumes about CNS *and* the UofA. Very glad for him.

the mac brown is out and saban is in at texas never had any legs, espn, cbs, and others knew this but they kept reporting it. who are these "inside sources" they refer to? now they are saying, we knew saban was staying at bama all along. what a joke

Question: we've all seen meltdowns when coaches left? Has there ever been an epic online meltdown as we've seen in Texas when the coach STAYED at his old job?

Ever? I can't think of one.

It's all about ratings and viewership.
