Saban signs multi-year extension w/Bama, shorthorns on suicide watch...

Total speculation. I think that these days there is always a chance that a coach leaves his/her position for other opportunities.

So I missed the amount by a few million...but was correct on the resigning part. I will send my yard guy over this weekend...although it is a long drive from Dallas. For the record...I sit in a good role in an international EPC oil and gas company that generates $15BB annually...have not blown leaves nor cut my lawn in a long time. Roll Tide and rolling to the Sugar Bowl to watch the game from my company suite...

At work working on a grant proposal so I have missed one important point, I think. Is it certain that UT will have CMB as its head coach next year or is there still a chance he retires or is jettisoned? Sorry for the digression.

I think because Mack is already locked into a lengthy contract (2020, I think), people believe he won't leave--he will have to be fired.

Well I used to enjoy yard work but I travel quite a bit for my company and do not have a lot of time for it. When I am home I spend that time with my wife and two daughters...unless it is football season...I either take my 16 year old daughter to the Bama games or I entertain customers at the games

I think he's safe for another year. His enemies lost. As I said above, I'd rather they had replaced him...

My question also. Is Mack simply staying until they find another coach, or will he be there next year? It seems you can read both of these scenarios into the reports.
 
AJ just said on ESPN, "the media did a really good job of making a story out of something that was never a story to begin with. Coach Saban told me he wasn't leaving and I believed him."

ETA: AJ just raked ESPN over the coals when asked about the last play of the Auburn game. LOL. I love that guy!!

I think that it exposes something that we knew all along: While there was probably a kernel of truth to the rumors, most were a result of the social media culture. Almost all of the "reports" were simply people reporting what other people were reporting, who were reporting what other people were reporting - rinse/repeat all the way back to the original rumor tied to the kernel of truth.

And Alabama fans should own up to their share of responsibility in propagating those rumors. There are a lot of Alabama fans saying that they knew it all along now who were openly criticizing Saban yesterday. Of course, Alabama fans are not journalists, so their responsibility is very different, but most certainly didn't help the situation.

Mack has not said that he is staying yet to my knowledge.

Question.

if coach is staying till at least 2021, how long will we have the Kirby Smart on our sideline? Because Coach Smart is also a very important piece of the puzzle, also you could throw in Coach Cochran too.
