This was classic CNS.
Told the media that they were gonna dog him about DJ no matter what decision he had made.

Round table on Jox

Anyone else tune in today for the Monday press conference on Jox? Man was it heated at times, and rightfully so. The more I hear this man talk, the more and more I know CNS is the right man for the job.

I loved the sugarcoat bit. Loved every second of him getting ....ed and telling it like it needed to be told. For far too long coaches and staff have babied these players and sugarcoat-fed crap to the media. i'm glad CNS is exposing the problem, even if he specifically pointed out certain players.

I am also glad he chimmed in about DJ Hall's "suspension". As I expected, despite the frantic blogs and confusion, CNS mentioned getting with his peer group prior to the game. He said that they all came up in agreement that DJ was to be "suspended" for only half a game. I didn't get to hear what the violation was but he did say he felt compassion for DJ's family and DJ's last time to play in BDs and the peer group felt half a game was sufficient. He also said he knew people would complain no matter if it was a game, two games, etc. Basically saying, "what's enough [time]?".

I tried going on Jox to see if you can download it but haven't had luck finding it yet. If anyone knows where it might be posted, please provide a link.

I heard the one on WJOX--he was vocal for sure... one of the things he said was something like 'you people want to sacrifice doing things right before winning and it ain't gonna happen, not with me it isn't.' and 'I think we should sugarcoat it and maybe we should tell them (players) that we love it when they do things the wrong way'...Those aren't exact but pretty close to his exact words. What I heard was awesome...I love this guy. Tells it like it is.

Hey, we all like the gruff demeanor and the way he "tells it like it is" to the media. Those monkeys sitting there with recorders generally don't know much about football, but they do know what sells papers.

But, Coach, spare us the dramatics by berating the journalists. Those guys sitting there with pocket protectors and cassette recorders didn't quit on the field Saturday. YOUR MEN DID. So, enough with the tongue lashing of NBC 13. Lay off the power smash on Fox 6. Let's make the difference in the locker room and on the field. All the yelling and berating doesn't mean a thing if those guys don't play up to expectations.

I don't buy into fear. Results are the only thing I'm concerned with.

The more I read your posts the more I think your not making sense!! Saban is clearly trying to clean house the way he wants it to be done and it is clearly gonna be done his way!! You got to love the man for that like he said id sacrifice wins for players doing it the right way!!

If I'm reading things correctly, the starting line up next year will consist largely of freshmen and sophmores.

I don't think we have to read into what he says to realize we need fresh blood in there. Just watching/ listening to the games illustrates that point. Some players are not adopting to CNS' way of thinking/ playing. The "process" likely includes playing younger guys who play the way CNS wants them to play.

Wow, CNS sounded beyond upset especially when talking about the character issues and when questioned about the team's identity. He did not specifically identify the individuals or condemn the entire team. It sounds like somebody may be benched depending upon how the respond to this week. It sounds like he is saying either change and atone or be gone or benched.

He said they are going back to work to change and get it right to be a good football team. I hope that is the case and that the ULM game was the rock bottom point where Alabama starts from on the way back up.

He said Arenas is probably doubtful for Auburn with his high ankle sprain. Grant is a litte beat up and wore down a bit. He said Grant is having some sort hip problems that aren't serious, just aggravating. CNS said he expects Coffee and Upchurch along with Grant will contribute at RB.

CNS also said that D.J. Hall was suspended for only the first half the game because it was his last game at BDS out of his compassion for Hall and his family.
