I agree. Defensively in centerfield there were only a couple of players even close, Mantle being one of those before his knee injury, base running phenomenal for a power hitter, hitting... remember the five home run game! 3283 hits, 1903 RBI, 660 HR. Awesome to think of several black players who emerged from the racism of Alabama, including Mays, Aaron and McCovey to sit forever in the baseball record books.

Willie Mays, believe or not, is one of the few reasons why I wish the HOF would separate the truly legendary players from other HOF.
