So I just saw where Lebron gave a gift (earbuds or some such) to every Buckeye player prior to the game. Now I thought that was an NCAA violation, no? But I suppose even if it is, the BiG will just change their rules to make it allowable. I'm starting to really dislike that conference and everything is allegedly stands for.

Ohio State has had its share of well known football players over the years. The Buckeyes have also had outstanding competitors and teams in other varsity sports. In no particular order, some of the best athletes (excluding football players) to ever compete for Ohio State:

1. Jesse Owens (Track & Field) -- Set 5 world records and tied a 6th in 45 minutes (not typos) at the 1935 Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor. Then embarrassed Hitler by winning 4 gold medals in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.
2. Jack Nicklaus (Golf) -- Won record 18 majors in golf (3 more than Tiger Woods currently has). Not too bad.
3. Jerry Lucas (Basketball) -- 3 time All American led OSU to the 1960 NCAA Championship (despite having to carry the dead weight of future Indiana head coach Bob Knight on the bench) and US team to 1960 Olympic gold medal. Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee.
4. Blaine Wilson (Gymnastics) -- 2 time NCAA all-around champion in gymnastics. 5 time US national champion & 3 time Olympian.
5. Katie Smith (Women's Basketball) -- When she left OSU, she held the B1G Ten career scoring record in basketball (men & women). Smith was a 3 time Olympic gold medal winner with Team USA and later the all-time leading scorer in women's professional basketball when she retired. Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee.
6. Logan Stieber (Wrestling) -- 4 time NCAA champion, one of only 4 in the history of the sport to accomplish the feat. Pretty incredible, considering 24 time NCAA champion Iowa is in the Big Ten.
7. Kyle Snyder (Wrestling) -- 3 time NCAA champion, world champion & Olympic gold medalist. Won all 3 (NCAA, world, Olympic) in 2016 while still competing in college.
8. Irina Andrianova (Pistol) -- 3 national titles in women's sport pistol and 2 national titles in women's two gun aggregate.

Finally -- not related but definitely historically significant (to me) -- Ohio Stadium hosted its first ever rock concert in 1988. The group: Pink Floyd, which played 2 shows on its "Learning to Play Without Roger" tour. Awesome show. Damn I'm old, lol.

I heard each player for Bama, when they arrived at the hotel, received a shopping bag full of stiff arms from Derrick Henry.

-I like that their fan base is loyal and loves their Buckeyes as much as Bama fans love ours.

-Marching band is out of this world.

-They have Red in their uniforms (Orange sux!)

-They have an actually winning program historically (you hear that UGA?)

-Have some fans with good knowledge of the game of football and I hope this game causes the two programs and fans to have a mutual respect for each other for years to come.
