I think there will be some upset people, The fans are already pretty upset. Georgia can not go undefeated every year and many teams would love 9-3 seasons, but it just doesnt sit right. Me personally, I am most upset that Mike Bobo is back calling the plays. I think the man is incompetent. I don't think he can develop a QB or call plays. However, rumor is that he is back next year regardless.
We love BoBo!😉 in all honesty, he is a good OC. His downfall is situational play calling , that’s where the Sarks and Monkens made their money.

It was a good loss in the sense that it was to a good team, but it wasn't a close loss.

Bama losing to Vandy was a close loss but not a good one.
I will argue the loss to 6-4 Vandy on the road is an OK loss, not good, not bad. The beat down at home to Georgia… not a good loss to me

Yeah I don't think the Vandy loss was a bad loss at all. Throw Arkansas on the jersey and people aren't near as upset.

Ingenius of the B1G not having their best teams play one another. That way they have 4-5 with one loss or less. Ohio St is the only school with a respectable schedule. Would Oregon be unbeaten if they played Georgia or Alabama’s schedule? Would Penn St only have one loss.

Im also very worried about the play off committee. These are wins over current ranked opponents

Texas has 0 wins against current ranked opponents

TAMU: wins over missouri and LSU

Georgia: wins over Texas and Clemson

TN: win over Alabama

Alabama: win over Georgia, LSU, and Missouri

Ole Miss: Win over South Carolina and Georgia

Missouri: 0 wins against current ranked opponents

LSU: wins over south carolina and ole miss

Throw out the losses, and Alabama has the most impressive resume in my opinion with Georgia or Ole Miss in second. However, Georgia does not pass the eye test as a championship team after their loss against Ole Miss

look at losses and Georgia and Texas have the "best losses." I'm not sure how you actually say that, but you get what I am trying to say.
You can't really throw out the losses completely. You have to compare one-loss teams to two-loss teams.

Not to derail the thread, but I wonder what Athens will be like if UGA drops this game to UcheaT which would make two games in a row they've lost and three overall?

Bama has the most impressive wins in the country. We've beaten more top 25 teams than anybody.
With two losses...

I think this 12 team playoff is quickly becoming one big mistake. It is not solving one single issue the 4 team playoff had. Instead, it's compounding the problems.
I don't like the format in the 12 team playoff, but I like that there are 12 teams. I think it's absurd that conference champs get automatic byes, particularly bad conferences, and I don't like that a group of 5 team is automatically in. However, if fans are crying over whether their team should be 10 or 11 instead of 12 or 13, then I don't have any pity for them. When it was under the BCS format of the top 2 play for the national title, and number 3 or 4 had an argument, then I understood that. When it moved to the 4 team playoff and teams 5 and 6 had an argument, then I could understand that, particularly last year with FSU. But a team that's lost 2 games, and won't play for their conference title, that cries about whether they should be in the playoff then I don't really care. They are lucky they are in and should be thankful they are.

And guess what - expanding it further won't do anything, either.

It's why so many of us resisted the expansion - it solves zero problems, likely adds more, and sooner than later some team that got hot at just the right time will win a NC with three losses over a previously undefeated (or one-loss) team and somehow we'll have to pretend they were the 'best' that year.

Take it back to four (or better yet, two) teams and let the computers decide. The BCS was nearly perfect at everything except padding the pockets of a bunch of TV execs as well as the CFP invitational does.

Given both the glut of 1 and 2-loss teams, and the complexity of the tiebreaker system, it might be best not to get into a bunch of iffity-ifs until maybe the last week of the season.

At this point in the season, the answer to every, "What happens if....." depends on the outcomes of multiple games often not involving the team in question.

You'd need a NASA supercomputer to go through all the possible permutations. Even then, you'd end up with a bunch of percentages of probability, not an answer.

Let's just enjoy the season and come back to the discussion during barn week.

Agree 100%. TideFans should have a seat on the committee. No blue font.
