Finebaum is just giddy right now thinking the barn can pull a 1993, 2004, 2010, 2013. His latest rationale is "well auburn had one of the nation's hardest schedules those years too and look what happened". One of the hardest schedules in the nation in 1993? Let's break it down.

Alabama and auburn were the only two teams in the SEC West who even had a pulse that year. Georgia was in the toilet in those days. There was that fluke win over Florida. Oh, but then Vanderbilt had them on the ropes the very next week.

2004 was NOT tough sledding. The SEC, particularly the West was not the rough and tumble world that it is today. And....we sort of had our version of Derrick Dooley back then. So, that helped their cause a tad.

Ok, 2010 was a little harder. But, Georgia was pretty bad that year. They drew a rematch with a South Carolina team (in the SECCG) that went downhill after they spent everything they had beating us. And they caught their 100 year lightening in a bottle with a one man show who was the difference between them going 14-0 and 7-5.

2013 wasn't an easy schedule, but, probably not the toughest. Georgia still had Richt and were still years away from being what they would become under Kirby. Arkansas was bad. They caught aTm at a time when Manziel had already peaked, plus he was hobbled. Plus, they weren't projected to be terrible that year. They weren't projected to finish last. When they have had miracle years, they have exceeded expectations, but they didn't exactly go from worst to first. 2022 is a WHOLE different animal. Plus, that pixie dust seems to have left with Gus. They still get some bounces here and there, but not like they did under him
