SECCG Preview: Bama, Georgia Familiar With Each Other — And With Injuries

The last time these two teams met – which was just over two months ago, as these two programs seem to spend more time around each other these days than do some married couples – TideFans.com gave a three-point edge to Georgia, largely on the strength of it being a Georgia home game.

This time around, the game will be played on a neutral field. Or, semi-neutral at least, as a lot of Georgia fans will simply be able to hop on a bus or train, get to the game and get home in time for a regular dinner meal.

As I wrote in another thread, I think D. Hill is the key to the game. If we can pick up where we left off against AU, I like our chances cause if we ran Hill more, that game is probably not as close as it ended up being.

Of course, Georgia is a better team, but if we get a decent day from Hill, it takes alot of pressure off of Ty, the OL and the passing game!

Keenan lining up across a freshman center is going to disrupt the Georgia interior run game and our ILB are staying in their gaps much better recently. D Hill can get about 100 yards in this game then our passing game can prove to be better against Georgia's secondary. Georgia's offense struggled against Tech. I like our chance and think we will win. Bama 27-17

It'll be interesting to see whose injuries affect the team more in this one. Part of me wants to win the game just so Alabama has a legitimate break. I just don't know if they have the depth to win.

I'll have what he's having!!!

Very fair assessment Jess and I tend to agree with everything except the final score. We will win this one against the odds, again. I think our players and coaches will WILL it to happen. It has been a special year in a lot of ways and nothing says championship season like an SEC Championship. I believe it will be the entire team and staff that step up to the plate in this one.

I think the Bama defense will hold up and perform well. The offense will need a way to give Ty Pass protection. Especially if they're wanting him to go long. I'd like to see the short passes we saw earlier in the season. Ty would only have the ball 2 seconds. We just don't have the pass protection to go deep. Takes too long.
