Jamal has had an almost identical career, except for the TDs where Su has almost doubled him up.

The Colts' Bill Polian said explicitly that Indy has no interest whatsoever in Alexander, so you can forget about them, too.
Right now, I'm thinking the smart money is on the Texans, but it's still very early.
But... I'll be brutally honest, he's not generating very much interest right now, and probably won't generate much overall. He will be a 31 year old tailback at the beginning of the 2008 season, which is especially worrisome for a guy who was never a Workout Warrior and who has been injured the past two years. At the end of the day, I figured he signs somewhere for the league minimum to be a back-up tailback somewhere. And I'm going to go ahead and throw this out there... I would not be overly shocked if he went ahead and called it quits. That's not the most likely outcome, mind you, but if it happens it shouldn't shock anyone.
You can cross the Raiders (McFadden), Bears (Forte), Jets (Booker), Panthers (Stewart), and Titans (Johnson) off of the list for Alexander's services because of either selections or trades on the first day of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Since I live in Portland, i have followed Shaun's career very closely. I've watched probably 95% of his games and will sorely miss him and probably won't follow the NFL as closely as I have in the past. Thank God Bama is looking up.
I do not blame Seattle for releasing him. It was a wise business decision. The Seahawks did him right by signing him to that huge extention and he's set for life financially. I said before they re-signed him that if they did re-sign him I would be a Seahawks fan for life and I will not reneg on that.
Overall, Shaun had a great career in the Emerald City and will be remembered as the best RB ever for that franchise, his MVP season, and Super Bowl appearance.
His last two years of down production had numerous causes of some both the organization and Shaun were responsible and one that was no one's fault (his advancing age/injuries). First, the loss of Steve Hutchinson was detrimental. It can not be understated the impact that departure had on the running game. Secondly, the sudden retirement of Mack Strong was devasting to Shaun from a production and protection standpoint. Thirdly, Shaun apparently lost "it". It's hard to pinpoint it and I don't won't to speculate why it happened, but it did happen.
Shaun Alexander's career as we know it may be over, but he's certainly able to contribute to some team and somebody will give him a chance. I will become a defacto fan of that team for a while, but I'll never be able to witness the magic that happened every Sunday for a certain player on a certain team.

Wow. I'm on a roll this week. Would it be presumptuous to guess Shaun will retire in a week or two? I hate to say this, but I can't think of a single team that is going to look at his profile and see anything but "too old" "too slow" "prone to injury"...
