I like a lot of the ideas, but a realignment of CFB football conferences is not going to happen. Brett's idea does not require that type of realignment, though it would require that the conferences grow or shrink to an equal size. But there are great ideas all over this thread. It's good seeing the "stalwarts" agreeing with our benevolent dictator. There may be compromise through power!
well, given the turnout at this years nonconference games, I think a convincing argument is made that nobody cares about those 2-3 games. I understand why they are played and they’re good games for non-season ticket holders to attend Yada Yada. However I think with my setup the TV revenue would be enormous and offset any games not played. Obviously I have no proof this is the case but seems common sense to me.Not a bad idea, but I don't see Power 5 schools giving up 2-3 home games worth of lost revenue each year.
Screw that, he's wrong. It's good seeing the "stalwarts" agreeing with our benevolent dictator. There may be compromise through power!
Perfectly! It may not matter. In 20 years there may not be enough football players to effectively field enough teams, and I’m not sure here would be nearly enough who care to watch. As the old foagies die out, there aren’t as many taking their place.
Maybe it’s 30 years. Don’t know. But a generation or two can change the landscape dramatically.
Enjoy it while it’s still here.
that was my Gray impersonation. Did I pull that off?
No going back. The can of worms is open!I want to go back to 2 teams. More than 4 would alter the game of college football to the point of making it unrecognizable, due to having a negative impact on the meaningfulness of the regular season.
We'll never go back to two.I want to go back to 2 teams. More than 4 would alter the game of college football to the point of making it unrecognizable, due to having a negative impact on the meaningfulness of the regular season.
the absolute max for me would be 5 conference champs and 1 at large. Im good with what we have now. rtr
1 for sure.....We may be in with one or 2 of these happening but here are the 3 games I think are most important and the scenario I'm hoping for
1. We beat Auburn and style points help.
2. Oregon beats Utah
3. Baylor beats Oklahoma (or Oklahoma loses to Okie State)
I'm just thinking of the viability of the sport as we know it. I'd rather college football didn't become NFL junior.I don't know why all you people want to keep a 4 team playoff especially if we had it this year. We would be in at 5 at worst...
6 team playoff isn't going to change that.I'm just thinking of the viability of the sport as we know it. I'd rather college football didn't become NFL junior.
