We know other conferences are expanding. Should the SEC expand?

I hope we don't, The SEC is the top conference in the country and can more or less cherry pick who ever we want but bringing in top ten teams like OU and UT would create a brutal schedule. The SEC could possibly have five top ten teams going into the SECCG with only one having a shot at a National Championship. To me these are teams we should be playing for a NC not SEC Champs.

The Pac10 and the Big10 can expand to sixteen teams to generate more funds but they still have got to prove it on the field.

Just because my next door neighbor buys a new Hummer doesn't mean I've got to go out and buy one. Sometimes trying to stay ahead of the Joneses can do more harm than good.
 
I voted yes, but am really not sure how I feel about it. If we expand I would only want to add 2 more teams, no more. Those 2 teams would hopefully be competitive and add market.

In the short term I do not see that expanding is required to maintain our current profitability. But if the "super" conferences prove successful, then we might have to in the future anyway. So, do we wait and see or act now? I don't know and am glad I don't have to make the decisions.
 
I don't want to see the SEC expand. However if the Pac-10 goes to 16 teams I don't think we have a choice. We are the best, but if the Pac-10 goes to 16 teams including USC, OU, TX then we are no longer tops.
 
NO! I don't understand why a lot of people thinks just because the Pac 10 goes to 16 teams we should. The SEC made more off of Football last year then the Pac 10 and Big 12 did together. Even if they get five more from the Big 12. The SEC will still be better. The PAC 16 will be a 3 to 4 team league. TV markets only matter if people watch the games.

Name another tops in the Pac10!!
We have Bama, Gators,Tigers two, and Ga and Tenn who can normally defeat those three and after they join the Pac they will be even less powerful IMO.
 
YES

(Ask Boise St. what happens when you have an identical record with a top conference team, but you played a softer schedule.
Membership in the top conference has it's advantages, if you can claw your way thru a tough schedule...)
 
I voted no... right now it's not necessary and I haven't been persuaded that it is necessary for the future... yet. Even after all the shakeup I still can't see an undefeated SEC team missing out on the bcs championship game. Oh wait- did that already happen to aubern? I wanna change my vote! No, wait... I don't.
 
It's been quite some time since I've been as conflicted about anything as I am this; but I voted yes. I just think the conference has to "keep up". Yes it will more brutal than it is now, but we can't (imo) allow the pac whatever or big whatever APPEAR to be better than the SEC.
