Should Tim Tebow be allowed to play against LSU?

I just can't quite buy this. I know Urban is all about Urban, but he should know that even if he loses this game, FL is not out of the championship picture. Better to lose without Tebow, and get him healthy for the remainder of the season. Surely he knows this, right??
He has said that, but not in so many words...

Scenario:

LSU leads Florida by the score of 24-20 with 1:30 left in the 4th Quarter. Florida has the ball, 4th and 3 to go, on LSU's 28.

Tebow has not been in the game all night, but he is imploring, begging Meyer to let him go in and get the first down.

What does Meyer do?
In that scenario, he CANNOT bring him in. If he does, it wouldn't matter if Tebow were injured or not. Everyone would know that he wasn't ready but was allowed to play anyway.

it's now what, less than 72 hours to kickoff and meyer is still saying it's a gametime decision? if they don't know by now, he should not be playing. if he goes in not fully recovered and gets pounded, it could cause permanent damage jeopardizing not only his football career, but the quality of the rest of his entire life. they're going to have to play every game after this season forever without him. it's not worth the risk to preserve a perfect record and/or shot at another national title. but meyer is all about meyer.

These are my thoughts as well. Hopefully Meyer is trying to play mind games with LSU.

If Tebow is cleared by the doctor and wants to go into the game . . . then he's going in. He wants that second Heisman and crystal football very badly. He's never won in Tiger Stadium and he wants that, too.

One reason that Glen Dorsey won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, the Outland Trophy, the Lott Trophy and the Lombardi Award, was that they not only knew that he was good, they knew he was playing hurt and was good anyway.

If he is cleared then he will play. It isn't a complicated situation. There are no levels of being cleared...it is either cleared or not cleared. Period. Urban Meyer is not going to trump the doctor one way or the other. This is all up to the medical staff at the University of Florida.

Why not err on the side of caution and his future health?

Well, Urban Meyer just said it on College Gameday . . . the doctors are giving Tebow one last set of tests--post jet flight--and if he is cleared to play . . . "He will play".

I think if it has to come down to a game time decision, the best decision is to keep him on the sideline. It would be a bad day for Urban Meyer if he gets hurt even with the doctor's ok to play.

Yeah, looks like Tebow will play...
I just heard Desmond make a boneheaded comment though. In saying Brantley would be fine as the starting qb because of their great wr's and running game...he was saying that UF is the leading rushing team in the country, which I'm not arguing with. But he neglected to say Tebow was the reason they lead in rushing.
Frankly I'm really sick of this whole subject. I'll be glad when Tebow graduates so ESpiN can find a new subject to talk about.

Being a coach I have sat in on many workshops and meetings with Doctors about this very subject. Every doctor has said that a severe concussion takes weeks to get over. In most cases at least 2 weeks, usually longer. There is no difference between a high school brain and a college brain. They are both very fragile after a severe concussion. I would say if he was in high school he would sit.....trying to play for a NC and millions of bucks he will play. I dont agree with that decision but I bet he plays.
