Another 1986 VFR700F Interceptor (RC26).....

Just arrived today. Got her shipped from S.Carolina door to door.

Too many dangerous drivers on the highway for me to justify saving the $650 for the transport. I think the one that came from Conn was around $600. The important thing is the bikes arrive in perfect condition, which they did.

This was from a CL add I saw. The seller was a very cool cat. Same age as me. Said he bought her last year but with some orthopedic issues decided to go with a Transalp instead. He has a Boxster and tracks a Maserati. Used to drive across the country buying older Porsches.

Anyhoo....she's in 95% perfect condition - everything original except the wild paint job and blue windscreen. She came with the original wheels, side fairings, seat cowl, and a bunch of spare parts.

Hopefully this will be the last one I buy for quite a while. Hard to pass them up when they are in this good of condition.......

Quick followup......

Sold for $4,300 on 4/22/24

Well sold......and well bought!

I actually just acquired a fuel tank for this bike that I will rehab and either keep for future use or sell at some point.

I think this one was made for just that 1 year......but will probably fit some others. Looks rough but hardly any rust inside, no dents, and included the fuel sender (!), so a decent purchase.

Transport went just fine. Nice couple who brought her down. This is their business and they go all over the country except the far west and northwest.

Both born in Cuba. Currently living in Cape Coral, my old stomping ground when I lived in Ft Myers and bought my first home in Lehigh Acres.

What's special about this bike is it's one of the few that Honda built at their plant in Marysville, Ohio. It's an '87 VFR700F Interceptor. Pretty close to the same as my white '86 in the photos I posted above.

Could use a little cosmetic work but not much. Rides as incredible as the first one I bought back in '97, which was also one of those rare Marysville, Ohio builds.

Also, this one has a Yoshimura slip on exhaust - never had one of those before!
