Snead entering the NFL draft

oh well, i was hoping he'd stay so we could put him in his place again.

Im sure he's leaving now because he couldn't do any worse. Next year, he could have lost his starting spot and not had any NFL stock at all.

Where is he projected to be picked? 3rd or 4th round?

I never bothered to check because I never thought he would go.
There is (and was most of the year) a problem on that team, and somehow it involved Snead. In the bowl game after the center for OM snapped the ball when Snead wasn't even looking, one of the assistant coaches grabbed Snead and the center and they squared off on the sidelines; the look in the center's eyes were the looks of a guy who really wanted to kick the other's behind, and he was looking dead at Snead and his eyes didn't even blink. I think that was part of the reason Snead had such a bad year (this unknown turmoil), and I haven't the foggiest idea of what brought it on, but you could see the tension between the two, and this was in a bowl game. HD doesn't lie...I think now his going pro may very well be in part due to this situation (whatever it is), because it sure ain't about the money. No one thinks 3rd or 4th round money will be affected by any "rookie salary cap".

He probably realized he might not start for OM next year. It's better to be drafted late than not at all.

That is what I was thinking. He ran from competition at Florida and at Texas. He is one of the most overated prospects I can think of in a long time. I hope he makes it in the pros, but I seriously doubt he will. He has the arm and the athleticism, but he needs a shrink to help with his head. Of course, playing for Nutt could do that to anyone.

Maybe he wanted to get away from Nutt. :)

Terrible decision for him to enter the NFL draft IMO. He's not anywhere close to ready to play with the big boys.

From my understanding its not 100% yet, but he is leaning heavily toward leaving.

As far as Ole Miss' situation, they have the Stanley kid that played a few series in the Cotton Bowl; and Raymond Cotton. Cotton Redshirted this year, and was a fairly highly recruited dual threat QB. I think this is a bad decision for Snead, and even worse news for Ole Miss. The most popular guy on a team is usually the back up QB.....we as Bama fans should certainly understand that. Overall, I think this will hurt the Rebs next year.

Guess he figured he had a bd year, but next year could be worse. Might as well go.

Well that settles it, I guess I'll declare as well. After all a 54 year old ad guy has as much chance of making it in the NFL as Snead does.

I honestly don't think he'll get drafted. No touch on his passes whatsoever, and incredibly inaccurate. Arm strength seems to have diminished as well rather than increasing from his soph to junior seasons.

sip

It is a done deal, I just read his notice that the University released on al.com
He has already graduated, so...happy trails.
