Question: So I must ask, who do you think will win it all?

The punter is out for the year. Many, including Georgia fans, have no idea how big of a deal that is. I would argue its a bigger deal than Beck being out. Thorson is an amazing punter who has flipped the field and allowed GA to win field position battles. Without Thorson this year, Georgia doesnt make the playoffs. Without Thorson and Woodring, GA probably would have won 7 games this year. Special teams is more important than most want to realize
Best of luck DawgAlum. You seem to be pretty cool and level-headed. I'm just not a UGA fan. Herschel ruined it for me when he played, but I do respect his abilities as a competitor. Now it's these fans mostly because I live in GA. Lots of Bama fans, too, so I'm not in a small minority. Lots of smack talk which I hate. Hope your guys are able to get well quickly, and it's not as bad as perceived. I can't imagine how tough it is mentally to not be able to play because you got hurt right before your playoff games. I'm sure Kirby will come up with something to keep from punting too much.

Thank you, it has been an interesting season, that is for sure.

I will say. Georgia is difficult in terms of fans, in part I believe because of the amount of different fans in the state. Georgia is extremely close to other campuses. Clemson is roughly 30 minutes from the border, and an hour to athens. Columbus GA is 45 minutes to Auburn and over 3 hours to athens. Thomasville GA is less than an hour from FSU and is over 4 hours to athens.

some of the largest employers in Georgia are the airport, the airforce base in warner robins, and universities. These employers draw in people from all over the country.

Long story short is that the state of Georgia itself is very diverse in terms of football fans.

I’m pulling for Indiana.
I really hope they play well because I do like Coach Cignetti a lot.

I would not be shocked if they upset ND in round 1.

But I can't see them getting past UGA w/o everything going their way.

I could also see Dabo causing a ruckus and upsetting both Texas and ASU.

He's an obnoxious goober but he does have a lot of Playoff experience and Texas has not been playing great on offense.

If Georgia wins another one, it will be insufferable living in Georgia. Nevermind we have multiple trophy cases compared to their trophy shelf
An example, after the Bama Georgia game this year in restaurant bar, -
-one of their fans asked me ‘ what happened last time ‘ .
-I said Bama won
- He said no , the other game . How long has it been since Bama won a championship .
- I said 2020 .
-He said thats a long time ago . . And Georgia Whooped that ass last time.
- I said, no Bama beat Georgia last time and knocked Georgia out of the playoffs.
-He said ‘ why are you getting mad? You are Just like all Bama fans , living in the past and cant take it
-. I started to say if it wasnt this year , its all in the past , but I just shut my mouth.

The way I want it to play out is to have Oregon, Georgia, Texas and Penn State in the semi-finals. Why? Because I still think a 4 team playoff was best and those are the 4 teams that would have played in that format so It would show how stupid it was to include the other 8. If we reach that point then I want Oregon to win it all because I don't like the other 3 teams and because I always find it exciting to have the eventual champion finish undefeated.

OH, but they will be catching up to the GOAT. You know Kirby is the new GOAT now.

Edited to make font blue.

I have watched the Boise St./ Oregon highlights a few times. Final score was 37-34. Boise St. gave up two TDs on special teams. Oregon kicked the winning field goal with one second on the clock. Boise was able to get good pressure on Dillon during the game. Jenty is an amazing player. He should win the Heisman. He got big NIL offers but turned them down. Boise's coach has a sign in his office of things to do. # 1 on the list is "Love Jesus." The team has a chip on their shoulders. They have something to prove. One projection has Oregon at +350 while Boise St. is +6000 to +6800. Some say it will take a miracle for them to win. But it helps when you have a coach and players who believe in miracles.

I think those early games aren't a very good measure as to how teams stack up - for example, I've little confidence that UGA would destroy Clempson like they did game one. And Oregon was dealing with injured OL for the first few games this season.

IOW, in a rematch I bet Oregon wins fairly comfortably.

My gut says either Oregon or UGA.

But if I had to lay cash, I'd say UGA. Stockton is an emotional weapon and once he settles is gonna be a player. I suspect BowlCut will have him ready.
Problem is there isn't a dominant team or TEAMS that you figure "it's one of those."

UGA - when they're on - appear to be the closest, but they've had some bumbles this year that haven't hit them in the recent past.

PAST "WE KNEW IT WAS ONE OF THEM EARLY ON"

2004 - USC, Oklahoma
2005 - Texas, USC
2006 - Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Florida
2007 - well, okay, nobody is perfect though it did look like LSU or Ohio St in October
2008 - Florida, Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma
2009 - Florida, Texas, Alabama
2010 - Alabama, Oregon, Auburn by late October if they could beat Alabama
2011 - LSU, Alabama
2012 - Alabama, Oregon (but not as highly thought of)
2013 - Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State
2014 - Alabama, Florida State (barely), Oregon
2015 - Alabama, Clemson, Ohio St
2016 - Alabama, Clemson
2017 - Alabama, Clemson, Georgia
2018 - Alabama, Clemson, Georgia
2019 - LSU, Alabama, Ohio St, Clemson
2020 - Alabama was the only team that looked consistently good
2021 - Alabama, Georgia, Michigan
2022 - Georgia, Michigan, Ohio St
2023 - Michigan, Texas, Alabama (from time to time)

This year, I think that list only has 3 teams - but none as dominant as those above:
2023 - Georgia, Texas, Oregon
