It's cost us at least two games, but that's Bama. Until it costs a team like Notre Dame (perhaps this week against Clemson), the rule will be slow to change.

While that play was far from the reason we lost the OM game...it kept us from winning despite playing so poorly.

I don't think that is what happened at all. The same people that will complain when other teams are 1ft over will complain when we are 1ft short. Like Earle said above the issue is the 3yds. Move it to 1yd and you take a lot of the problems with getting the call right away.

Completely disagree with the first part, totally agree with the last. If it were 1 ft I could live with it. 2-3 yards either way and I begin to get a chip on my shoulder about it. I mean, seriously...after not calling it and not calling it and then the refs get called out for it and then seemingly search for an opportunity to call it against Bama and then screw it up when the linemen are a full yard back from the line of demarcation?! I believe in coincidences. Some things are too coincidental.

They should be able to review that call and all would be well.

That does not make sense. Yes, I see reason to complain when the rule is violated and does not get called as well as when the rule gets flagged when it was clearly not violated and just happens to be against the team whose coach is embarrassing the referees publicly for their incompetence in calling the violation. I do agree with you and Earle on the 1 yd.

I really hope Saban sends that play to the SEC office this week to continue to drive the point home... the rule needs to be changed. 3 yards is obviously to hard for these refs to judge, making it 1 yard means anything more then 1 step beyond the los and your flag comes out.
