Does anyone have an evaluation of the team based on the fall games? Noticeable pitching differences based on the new coach, etc

I know nothing about the differences among prep softball ratings services, but signing day was yesterday, and two of the three 2023 signees are said by the UA official athletics site to be pretty good if "Perfect Game Softball" and "Softball America" are credible:

Jocelyn Briski (RHP – Phoenix, Ariz.)
  • Two-time Region Player of the Year (2021-22)
  • Desert Vista High School all-time strikeouts leader (737)
  • PGF 2023 All-American Futures
  • 0.42 career ERA, 33 wins and .517 batting average at Desert Vista
  • Ranked 11th in class by Perfect Game Softball, 13th by Softball America
  • 2022 6A State Pitcher of the Year
  • Kenleigh Cahalan (IF – Trussville, Ala.)
    • Ranked No. 1 overall player in 2023 class by Perfect Game Softball
    • 2022 Alabama Miss Softball
    • 2022 MaxPreps Alabama Player of the Year
    • Two-time Gatorade Player of the Year finalist (2021-22)
    • Two-time PGF All-American and MaxPreps All-American
    • 2022 PGF 18U National Champion with Birmingham Thunderbolts
    • 2022 All-State Player of the Year
    • 7A State Runner-Up
    • All-State every year of varsity
    • Made All-State as 8th grader, the youngest player in 7A ever to do so
Those two sound pretty good to me.

Kenleigh Calahan - by all reports - is a game changer. She's an early enrollee and will play within six weeks of this post. Huge difference maker for team 27.

There are more good players than ever in softball, as you would expect with the growth of the sport. Parity is here in women's softball. Bama is still very good - but many opponents are so much better than they were even three years ago. Yet, even with the parity Oklahoma will remain dominant for the foreseeable future.

Looking forward to seeing her play.

Did Alabama say no thank you to recruiting or something, cause not being on that list is embarassing.
Well… Much of the toxicity of last year has bled over to recruiting and many elite travel ball coaches are telling people not to play for Murphy.

This might be Alabama’s last legitimate shot to a deep OKC run, but I’m not convinced we make it. The talent is there, but our rivals and the league as a whole have gotten better. Idk is Tana can take us on her back.

Shocked there is still the devoted following. No way they make a "real" run with one pitcher...even if that one is MF! However, I'll be there cheering them on!
