Honestly, I thought we'd be picked 5th. It hurt a bit to not see a single Tide player on the preseason All SEC team, BUT I have faith we can overachieve. I know it's been an up and down few years for Murph but I'm really hoping the addition of Tide legend Kayla Braud to the staff will really help. Especially with the hitting and maybe the team building a better chemistry as well.

I hope so, too.

I hope you’re right.

Pre-season picks don't mean squat.Obviously losing a legend like Montana hurts big time but i think the pitching staff will be good enough with Beaver,Torrence,Johnson and Briski. The hitting has been pretty woeful the last several years that has to improve drastically for us to succeed.Hopefully Kayla Braud helps.RTR!
Braud was a slapper, she can help with small ball. Adam Arbour is the hitting coach with only one year of assistant coaching in 2015. if he were truly a good coach, he would have been an on field coach somewhere not here as support staff. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see our hitting getting any better because of him.

Good point HoHo- maybe Braud was brought in to help mentor, chemistry, leadership? I like the looks of us developing a DEEP pitching staff instead of having to rely on one or two ladies all year. Seems to be the way the game has evolved since the early 2010's

I love Braud and hope she does really. I just wish she were on a more seasoned staff. She has one less year of college coaching than Adam Arbour with zero years. Pitching coach Lance McMahon has 7 years. Our assistants have only 8 years of college experience. To me that's absurd for Alabama.

If Murph would be willing to change and play small ball instead of waiting on one or two big hits we could win more. With the pitchers out there nowadays you can't wait for and expect to win consistently against better competition trying to win with the long ball.
I hope he will make adjustments this season.

I know it wasn't against World Series type teams, but I'm impressed with what we did in ATL last weekend. Team seems to really pull for each other and I love the fact that Murph is really utilizing a deep pitching staff. Ready for a fun season and hopefully a repeat trip back to OKC.

The problem is and always has been that he has refused to adjust to the big hitter lineup strategy. He coaches like Arizona did in the 2000’s and has never changed. We are lucky that Auburn had a scandal in their coaching staff under myers or we would have suffered more than we have had these last 6 years.

Murph won’t win another national championship nor will he ever reach a finals. The sooner we accept it the better. The university won’t fire him and it’s highly doubtful that he leaves in the next two years because the Oklahoma series next year will be a huge payday. So for everyone wondering what Joe pa and Bobby Bowden did by needlessly staying for way too long then here is your answer.

Yes this comes while we are looking good but once we hit the big girl part of our season then we are going to see how many games Murph actually won vs how many Montana won these last 3-4 years.

I certainly understand 81usaf92 here. Just like football, if you don't adjust you get left behind. The optimist in me hope that great team chemistry and a DEEP pitching staff can carry us back to OKC. Murph survived the mass exodus of talent 2-3? years ago so I'm hoping the clubhouse is all on the same page once again.
