Exactly. The issue in question is not whether or not the SPLC is run by scumbags; it is. The question is: is it being run by criminal scumbags. I hope any forthcoming trial is public. I'd like to see the evidence for myself.

But this week, the DOJ took another stab at the SPLC case, securing a superseding indictment. And then they appear to have promptly leaked it to right-wing media because this case is more about winning points on Twitter than in court. Did the DOJ fix the deficiencies in the original indictment?

Friends, they did not.

But they did manage to make it worse, forcing us to ask the question: are the prosecutors on this case trying to lose or just stupid?

A top Southern Poverty Law Center official is accused of helping funnel $1.2 million in donor money to an informant in the National Alliance white supremacist group — who was also allegedly her lover.

The Department of Justice filed a superseding indictment against the SPLC accusing it of funneling donor cash to hate groups they were then telling donors they were fighting.

One figure, referred to as “Employee-2” in the indictment, is described as a “person who would become Director of the SPLC’s Intelligence Project.”

This just gets better and better. The demand for racism is clearly exceeding the supply. Rather than be happy about that, awful people are just absolutely seething over it.
