I think some of the roles on the OL are about as clear as mud. While EP is taking all the reps at LT, he was beat out by Proctor last season, plus we have statements that they've been giving Booker reps at LT also, which makes me think it's not quite settled with EP yet. I will say that I thought EP looked a bit better to me than proctor last year in pass pro, so he might have an edge in the new offense. I think both OT spots are up for grabs and it could be a 4 horse race with Formby, Booker, EP and Proctor. 2 will grab OT spots, and the third on the list will settle back to the OG spot Booker had last season and if EP is on the outside, he might look elsewhere...At the moment he's our starting left tackle and likely a better starter there than proctor assuming he has progressed.
Interesting. Not sure how I feel about that. Makes sense in some ways because we have basically no OL depth.
I like that format better than the mock game. Shows us more, perhaps. And we will probably be able to see more QBs working with 1s this way too. They rotated Qb's against the Defenses. Just Offense vs. Defense the whole time sprinkled with some special teams work. Not like a split the teams up play a real game.
I think it will be all mixed up. A lot of rotating in a mix of 1s, 2s, etc. There won't be a team of 1s for quarterbacks to play with.I like that format better than the mock game. Shows us more, perhaps. And we will probably be able to see more QBs working with 1s this way too.
There won't be a separate team of 1s and 2s on defense or offense. Gonna be mixed with a lot of rotating players in and out. It's different from what we're used to on A-Day.Maybe this new format will give all of the QBs a chance to play with the 1s, going against the 1s on defense rather than being relegated to playing with the 2s and 3s against 2s and 3s which doesn't really tell us anything.
Yea, but that was inevitable given the coaching change. I am looking forward to seeing this offense in T-Town and how well it is executed. Same's true for the D. 15 practices is not much but we really have an outstanding team of young talent at the Capstone. There won't be a separate team of 1s and 2s on defense or offense. Gonna be mixed with a lot of rotating players in and out. It's different from what we're used to on A-Day.
I have to admit that in previous years the A-Day stuff has been really confusing to me as a viewer...so many things going on at once. There won't be a separate team of 1s and 2s on defense or offense. Gonna be mixed with a lot of rotating players in and out. It's different from what we're used to on A-Day.
I think booker reps at tackle have been a result of us being razor thin at the position position right now, not anything to do with EP especially with mcvay being banged up a little bit.I think some of the roles on the OL are about as clear as mud. Maybe. But I think that's how DeBoer has done it other places. At least at Washington I think.I think offense versus defense is also because of depth issues because oline we have 12 players and one is injured, one banged up and proctor is not here yet, I believe next year CKD will probably go like in past crimson- white game
So the offense gets the steak...?
When would the 2s play on defense...?Maybe this new format will give all of the QBs a chance to play with the 1s, going against the 1s on defense rather than being relegated to playing with the 2s and 3s against 2s and 3s which doesn't really tell us anything.
Don't even care. This might produce a better practice. But the winner will be decided by stats, not a scoreboard. So the offense gets the steak...?![]()
