I know there is probably just a small number on this board that even knows the Stanley Cup Finals are now set, but as a DIE-HARD Detroit Red Wings fan... I feel obligated to start the thread.

The Red Wings are about to go Penguin hunting! Here's hoping they bring the Stanley Cup back home to Hockey Town!

I cannot believe that the game was on VS. instead of ESPN. I'm a Lightning fan, but before moving to Tampa (late 90s) I was a Penguins fan. Uh oh, I'm outnumbered.:wink:

ESPN decided to drop the NHL during the lost season, and the then Outdoor Life Network, which is now Versus, gave them basically the best deal they could get. The NHL desperately needs to get better coverage, which would be ESPN or even Fox Sports, but they have apparently decided to stick it out with Versus. At least Game 3 and beyond (Hopefully it's just one more after that) will be on NBC.

The second round of Penguin hunting went smashingly for Detroit!!!

We're two away from the Cup! If Detroit plays like this when the series moves to Pittsburgh, they will sweep. I will be happier than a pig in slop because I will be able to watch all 4 games before I move to the summer camp I have to work.
