Starters for Bowl Game?

I would be shocked if he played RB or TE. He simply does not have the football instincts As far as RB, it’s not as simple as some think and IMO, he could never ever be a RB.

The only hope I can conjure is that with unlimited time he might be able to develop the intangible aspects of QB. But though I have seen some improvement, it has not been enough and wonder if he has the capacity.

Playing QB in the NFL requires talents and skills both mental and physical that few people on earth have. I wish him the best but would be surprised if he could be a NFL contributor except possibly as a specialty player like a Taysom Hill type role.

No, Ty has earned the right to compete with Lonergan, Mack, Russell and anyone else DeBoer might want to include. He’s probably earned the right to be first in line when spring practice first begins.

Well he has also earned the role of current backup QB.

The guess is that DeBoer will declare an open QB competition - though it’s his prerogative to declare one QB the leader.

I don't see him as a QB or a TE in the NFL.

RB? Nah, he has less lateral mobility than my grandmother.

Now that you have brought it up...not sure where he could play. :unsure:

Yep and start a run for the portal. I don"t see us even contacting a QB in the portal unless Manning or Lagway put their names in which is not going to happen.

I remember several years ago when a team we played in a bowl game -- pre-CNS -- used all the practices and the game to install their offense for the next year. They lost -- and the announcers stated ad nauseam what they were doing.

I really wish KDB would do something like that...make good use of the end of a disappointing season.

Agreed. It's interesting to look at the direction we were headed offensively under the Saban staff - Milroe, Simpson and Lonergan were all "dual threat" players who rushed for serious yardage at the high school level. Of the guys on the roster currently, only Mack fits the true "pocket passer" archetype (which makes sense).

If we roll with the guys currently on the roster, DeBoer will be faced with an interesting decision from a schematic standpoint. Does he try to shift back towards what he ran at Washington - which is basically the Air Raid with tight ends and a little bit more balance? Or does he continue to try and utilize an athletic QB and adapt his offense accordingly like 2024? I suspect if Ty ends up starting it's the latter.

Yes

You clearly have not watched qb play in the NFL.

Hes much better than anthony Richardson when he went 4th overall. He's a more gifted runner than any qb in the league and he can throw it a mile.

There's at least 4 teams that probably HAVE to go qb round 1.

Also, He will have break twitter at the combine.

Hes a first round pick, assuming those 4 teams don't wait for the second round on a qb....also the draft is kinda weak this year and all the top qbs are some kind of project or another.

You're almost correct. I stopped watching pro ball the 2nd week the kneeling was allowed during the National Anthem.

Haven't watched ... or missed it ... at all since.

He wasn’t saving eligibility by not playing them. Stated no one played better in practice. Never replaced Milroe as bad as he got. Even if giving him almost unlimited lead to play for staying it still means no one was far better or not in his eyes during the season.

I would say, yes. Therefore, it should be interesting to see the QB competition in the spring. I think it's wide open and AM is a very good fit. I would not be surprised to see him emerge as QB1.
