A pardoned Capitol rioter was arrested last weekend for allegedly threatening to kill House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Court documents obtained by CBS News said Christopher Moynihan was arrested Sunday after saying in text messages that he planned to "eliminate" Jeffries when the top House Democrat spoke at an event in New York City on Monday.

Jeffries spoke at the Economic Club of New York on Monday.

Moynihan was arraigned Tuesday and entered a plea of not guilty.

According to a court filing by prosecutors in the New York state criminal case, Moynihan wrote, "Hakeem Jeffries makes a speech in a few days in NYC I cannot allow this terrorist to live."

I am sure every Trump supporter will approve this bold move by a Dear Leader. What a cool way to steal money from the taxpayers:

Trump said to demand Justice Dept. pay him $230 million for past cases

when will these little people learn, the law does not apply to dear leader

Trump demands DOJ pay him $230M for cases against him. His ex-lawyer Blanche could decide the claim

President Donald Trump is reportedly demanding the Justice Department pay him $230 million in compensation for the federal investigations into him – a settlement that could ultimately face approval by one of his former lawyers, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

Trump’s demands, reported first by the New York Times Tuesday, are related to two complaints, made through “an administrative claims process” that he submitted regarding probes by the Justice Department.

One, submitted in 2023, seeks damages for violations of his rights regarding the special counsel and FBI investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, sources familiar with the matter told the Times.

Any limit on how many pardons a person can receive?

How many 'no king' protesters were arrested under this authoritarian regime?
Oh, zero arrests? Cool. Guess that means we’re definitely not edging toward authoritarianism.

People are literally marching with “No Kings” signs because Trump keeps saying things like “I can do whatever I want as president," and his actions seem to indicate he's pretty serious about exercising that degree of power. That’s not normal in a democracy, and that’s why they’re out there reminding him (and everyone else) that we fought a whole revolution to avoid that mindset.

Authoritarianism doesn’t necessarily begin with mass arrests or tanks in the streets. It can start when people shrug off leaders acting above the law because “no one’s been arrested yet.”

If we wait until the arrests start, it’s probably already too late.

Oh, look anti Putin protests in Russia and almost no arrests (except those who tried to attack police). Never mind that they were in 2010.
Authoritarians don't squash dissent in a day
