Plus, as mentioned above, the away game costs money. Buffalo, Sister Mary's School for the Blind or any other team coming to Neyland brings in revenue...revenue that a struggling program will need.
I read somewhere that UT brings in between 3-3.2 million per home game. I am not sure if that is gross or profit.

Buy out or postpone--I don't care which UT is doing--it makes them look like they are trying to get out of a tough game and hence shield Dooley from having to face a tough OOC opponent while he's still getting his feet wet. As others have mentioned, at least we were on probation when we moved the Penn St series, Tennessee is not and has a full compliment of schollies.

Agreed. Call it glasshouses or pots I really dont care. My glass is ultra violet coated and Bama has a reason for everything just like the
reason we dont want every single sec opponent having an off week
before they play UA.

I heard as of a week ago that there were still tickets available for the Florida and Alabama games which is hard to believe. Sounds like some of your faithful will be disguised as empty seats at some of your home games this year.

You are correct. Tickets are available

The team is 36-24 over the last 5 seasons and only 1 10 win season. Those seat will end up gone...maybe to Bama and Florida fans.

I don't foresee it, but if Bama has difficulty in putting ut away again this year because of it being their fourth road game in six weeks, all of us are going to wish that Bama had bought out Duke and played a cupcake at home. Not to mention that it will, again like last year, be Bama's fifth SEC game in five weeks. With ut,of course, again like last year, having the previous week off. And we all do remember last year. Don't we? Game should have been a 3TD win for Bama, but Bama was dead a** tired.

I've got to say that Tennessee made a reasonable & smart decision to pull-out.
Lane Kiffin messed them over royally and left them short handed, disorganized, and in a sad state of affairs. (No pun intended)
Tennessee is still looking down the NCAA gun barrel thanks to the buffoon
who left. (CLK)
It turns out that UNC was not willing to let Tennessee postpone the games till a later date.
(It seems that UNC 'Smelled Blood in the Water', and the only way to avoid playing and loosing to a good UNC team was for TN. to buy their way out.)

No one wants to see a weakened SEC school loose to any ACC school.

I'm pretty sure that after Coach Dooley instills some discipline into the TN team and has a chance to coach them at least a year of so, that UNC might not be so anxious to play them.

A lot of Alabama fans will disagree with me, but, I want Tennessee to win
all of their out of conference games.

I just don't want them to ever beat Alabama again... :biggrin2:

Tennessee plays Bama and Florida every year. LSU plays Bama and Florida every year. Why would either want to play another Top Ten team? Both should load up on cupcakes.

The thing most people forget is both Fulmer and Kiffin tried to get this game moved to a later date. This is something Hamilton has been trying to do for a while now. Perception wise is looks bad but I've never been one to care about that. But Hammy HAD to do this. That six game stretch would have been brutal. With where our program is right now we need wins. And considering our recent out of conference schedule with UCLA, Cal, and Oregon, and our future series with Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Ohio St, not to mention a verbal agreement with USC, we hardly back down to OOC opponents. Somehow our fanbase doesn't understand this.

If Roy Kramer had been a Bama fan and screwed ut the way he screwed Bama, your fanbase would understand perfectly.

getting out of a series with a perceived 'tough' opponent - check

NCAA sniffing around - check

boy, does this all sound familiar. different order of occurence, but I'm willing bet the results are close to the same, and they may lose an AD.
