he stopped them for a half.... what more do you wantSo ..... wasn't the LSU DC (Chaves or something) supposed to fix this porous defense?

In a thread with the title, "At least there's some positives about tonight"I went to TexAgs and didn't bother opening anything. Just the titles were hilarious.
You know, it didn't cost us the game but we had a ccouple of plays Saturday night that would fit this description as well. Just run the dang ball!Hahahahahaha. aTm. Hahahaha.
The best part is, they had over 300yds rushing, UCLA never even slowed them down running the ball. They could have easily run time off the clock, but no, Sumlin has to be all big and bad, throwing the ball all over the field like he is behind. Instead, its 3rd& 3 in the redzone in the 4th qtr, freshman QB takes a 15yd sack. UNDER 3 MIN LEFT, throwing the football instead of running. Lol. Classic aTm.

Sumlin thought LAX was a defensive scheme....Will aTm fly out of LAX? I don't think Sumlin makes it though the season.
Kevin Sumlin should be fired for the worst clock management and game playing for the fourth quarter! With a true freshman QB and a 27 point lead he continues running a fast offense even when his D is gassed because they can't stop UCLA! Then, with 3 min on the clock and the ball UCLA calls timeout leaving just one and they have a 2nd and long 7 or short 8 and he tries to throw the ball which falls incomplete giving UCLA an extra 40 seconds and then takes a sack on 3rd down. He then is doing okay when they pressure Rosen and on 3rd and 8 they don't blitz giving up a 1st and then a 4th and 6 he lets a flair to a RB go for a 1st. HORRIBLE COACHING!!!

Unfortunately the way the business works requires terminating the guy early instead of letting him finish because it allows the school to freely shop for the replacement.I don't believe he'll be fired until the end of the season. I think it'll be done with an air of class, unspoken bbutthe ccountdown has begin.
Could be crazy wrong, I dunno.

Momentum shouldn't have anything to do with the application of rules, no.It is unconscionable that did not even garner a review
So you honestly think refs should take into account momentum when making judgment calls?
I was thinking the same thing. After the turnovers we had the ball near the goal line and tried to pass unsuccessfully. I think it was either the previous series or the next series when we had 3 and 3 in an area of the field where we would have gone for it on 4th, so essentially two downs to get three yards, and we passed unsuccessfully. Now, I get that we need to be able to pass the ball much, much more effectively than we have for the last five or six games, but it was clear that we weren't going to look great passing the other night. I thought we had the game wrapped up with another few first downs and a score. That is what I was thinking at the time, but I was glad to see that the pass plays we called had guys open if we had been able to protect and/or find the receivers. Hopefully, we get the bugs worked out and get this offense rolling. You know, it didn't cost us the game but we had a ccouple of plays Saturday night that would fit this description as well. Just run the dang ball!

Funny.I'm gonna put these two posts from this same thread together and just let your mind wander.....
1)
2) In response to who will be the Ags coach in 2018..
THINK about these two posts.....
Honest question - what's the difference between a typical B12 team and a typical P12 team?I honestly think someone like Chip Kelly or Helfrich will be their next coach, but I think Miles is probably the best they can get because their problem is that they wont stop trying to be a Big XII team.
Big XII defenses are geared towards stopping the pass, Pac 12 is generally geared around the run. The problem is neither are good suggestions because a balanced team will destroy both. PAC 12 teams other than USC, UCLA, Washington, and Stanford are generally geared to stop the Oregon like offenses. I honestly cant think of a great defense in the Big XII outside of Oklahoma and KSU.Honest question - what's the difference between a typical B12 team and a typical P12 team?
Both generally play flashy offense and little defense.
Chip Kelly at A&M is interesting, though I suspect they'd end up getting hammered by the NCAA.
