Welcome aboard, Cade. We've got a quality kicker. Can he also punt? Because if he's not used to we've got to get a punter as well.
I never understood Mike Shula's philosophy about not offering scholarships to kickers/punters. Everyone had to walk on. However the starters automatically earned the scholarship. So, in the end we were in the situation where we had a bunch of crappy kickers with one of those on a scholly (someone had to win the starting job). A reasonable question: why not offer? At least we would have one of the best kickers in the country on a scholarship and a bunch of crappy walk on kickers to give some depth. For the same price (one scholarship), we would have a better starting kicker. Or is there something that I'm missing here?
