The Decline of the American Media III

What's funny is I picked up on the liberal bias inherent in the US press without even knowing there was a "left vs right." So did people with functioning brains. But no, that was Rush Limbaugh that brainwashed everyone or so I've been told (even though I figured this out years before anyone heard of Rush nationally).

And then we have someone honest enough to admit the truth.
It was ALWAYS this way, folks. Always.

It was never "right wingers just mad at hearing the truth," Andy Rooney admits what was always obvious to anyone with two eyes.

He Is Charged With Murder. He Could Become a Sheriff.

What actually happened:
a 67-year-old man kidnapped this man's 13-year-old daughter out of their home while the 67-year-old was awaiting trial on 43 counts of sexually abusing his daughter. He tracked the guy down, ran him off the road, freed his daughter and killed the pedophile.

But this is the NYT and a conservative county in the South so you can figure the spin quickly. Also, it's 2nd degree, and he did what any normal human being would have done. He even had to sue to get a judge's gag order on the case overturned so the public would know this wasn't just some crazed vigilante.

I was familiar with this story and sadly enough, that headline doesn't surprise me AT ALL. Speaking frankly, I hope he wins.

I used to attend church in Lonoke County.

This guy's name is not familiar but based on his age, I'm sure he attended school with some of my youth group.

I'm glad he did what he did and hope he not only wins the election, but is acquitted.

The only good pedo is a dead one.

Tim Miller somersaulted from “a Nazi tattoo, end of discussion” to “well, it’s not like he was a guard at Buchenwald” faster than the Ex-Lax he was taking took to kick in.

A post regarding the two individuals arrested for throwing homemade bombs outside of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s home failed to reflect the gravity of the incident thereby breaching the editorial standards we require for all our reporting. It has therefore been deleted.

And here is the post in question:

I'm gonna guess this is what @CrimsonJazz had linked that has been removed.

You DO NOT hate these people enough.

Muslims In PA and NYC.webp

The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleges that Balat and Kayumi made statements about the Islamic State terrorist group before and after they were arrested. Body camera video from the New York City police officers who arrested Kayumi shows him responding "ISIS" to someone in the crowd asking why he had done it, according to the complaint.

Federal prosecutors said the pair hoped to inflict more carnage than the Boston Marathon bombing, which killed three people and injured more than 260 others in 2013.

The religion of peace, everyone.

Yep, that's the one. And since I'm sure we could all use a chuckle today, here's is BB's satire on the issue:

U.S. — CNN reported this morning that several Japanese teenagers traveled to Hawaii for what could have been a lovely day at the beach.

However, instead of enjoying the unseasonably warm weather, dozens of these men ended up hurt or killed after coming into contact with a group of anti-Imperial, xenophobic Americans.

At publishing time, CNN had reported that, sadly, Timothy McVeigh had wound up arrested after traveling to Oklahoma City for what could have been a lovely April morning.

There's been some pure gold come out of this.

This was my favorite:

A young veteran ascended the steps of the Texas School Book Depository to enjoy his lunch on a cool, crisp November day.

Hours later his life would change forever when shots rang out and President Kennedy lay dying in a Dallas hospital.

CNN deserves every bit of this.

CNN deserves every bit of this.

Let's say what they're afraid to say:

"We are afraid that if we actually tell the truth in the headline about terrorist Muslims, they will blow up our building."

That's no doubt why one of the Minnesota outlets referred to a child as having FALLEN in the Mall of America when he was actually THROWN OVER THE SIDE by his religion of peace father.

I don't think that's it at all. I think they don't want to say anything that contradicts the progressive wing of the democratic party. Right now the overarching current belief from the Progressives is all Muslims good, all Christians bad. It's as simple as that, trying to save face and boost their Progressive bona fides.

Late-night “comedians” Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert and Seth Myers, along with Paul Begala and other CNN blowhards, went big for a pseudo-story Wednesday, raging about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other Pentagon bigs supposedly eating high on the hog.

All the smug fury was based on a news item — from noted military journalism site TMZ! — about the Defense Department spending $22 million on lobster and ribeye steak in a single month.

If they’d bothered to check the (transparently idiotic!) assumption that all the eats were for the top brass, they’d have learned that a “surf & turf” fete is a longstanding military tradition, a treat for troops headed to a deployment or stuck on an extended tour, with all the gastrointestinal joy that a diet of MREs can deliver.

With more than 1.3 million active-duty personnel, that $22 million works out to under $17 a head.

Let me provide additional info here.

John Harwood's mother worked for the RFK campaign and John himself appeared in an RFK commerical for 1968 when he was 11 years old. HIS FATHER - a WaPo journalist named Richard Harwood - did something John would never have the honesty to do: asked to be removed from covering the campaign due to a conflict of interest.

That's the difference in a journalist and a hack like his kid turned out to be.
