The Full Banjeaux?

NYBF wrote his auto-biography. The title of his book: Guinness Book of World Records.

Banjeaux and bayoutider was both cool cats. This board was better because of those two.

What Howe hat trick is to the NHL, going "Full Banjeaux" is too tidefans. It's a badge of honor.

NYBF was another legendary former poster who has done all of these things, and so much more. I'm pretty sure I read that he roundhouse kicked Chuck Norris into submission on two occasions, and he had actual legal standing against Dos Equis over their wrongful attribution of the title Most Interesting Man in the World.

Also true.

NYBF references galore on this place. Funny thing is, I interacted with the guy and know his handle, but I honestly don't recall the braggadocio (constant) or claims. But we sure have fun with it.

Now, I'm not totally certain of the what, but it's an inside joke (pardon the pun) - I forget if seebell IS a midget tranny or LIKES midget trannies, I've never totally put that together.

that, of course, is a joke.

Blue font = sarcasm, too.

Don't think someone is serious when you see blue font.

Don't think 92tide is ever serious.

Exchanges with him would start out normal and, sometimes, stay normal. At other times, his braggadocio and lies would spiral out into outer space. You never knew if he were just pulling our legs or if he were living in a world of delusion...

Shedding more light on The Full Banjeaux....

Banjeaux, when the thanks, like, and dislike buttons were first introduced would often click all 3. And he meant all 3. For him, it meant that he thanked you, liked part of you post, and disliked part of your post. When he first did it a number of us were confused as we just didn't have the capacity to think so far out of the box, I guess. I remember he had to explain it at least once, if not several times that he did it.

The Full Banjeaux tribute came about after his passing and does convey a great respect to the post/poster earning it. I can't remember just who conceived or coined the term, but it caught on quickly - especially among those of us who interacted with him often in NS.

Banjeaux was a little odd and quirky. He was genuine. He is missed.

Thank you one and all for your insights about Banjeaux. I gathered it was a token of respect, but I also have the sense that it's more than that; invoking the "Full Banjeaux" is akin to raising a glass in fond memory and keeping the spirit he brought to the party alive.

I remember the first times he did it and thinking "Lulz... Old quirky guy doesn't know what he's doing." We all soon learned he knew exactly what he was doing.

I never had any with him that just went totally off the rails. I found him to sometimes be arrogant, but I could say the same about every poster here at times, myself included.

So when I saw references, yeah, I knew the name, but I didn't quite get the joke even though I was here.

I'm guessing I must not have been posting on the right threads.

My major increase in involvement here actually occurred in the Cam Newton megathread - not that I didn't post before but that's when my posting skyrocketed.

Wow, really???

You mean you don't recall the plethora of women to which he replied, "I've turned down hotter?"
Or the number of companies for which he consulted on some vital, potentially earth-changing project?
Or his many, almost-unbelievable-if-not-completely-unbelievable exploits from his world travels?

Selma, I must say that I'm disappointed in your memory in this instance. :)

you forget his 80+ hour work weeks while simultaneously coaching both of his boys' sports teams, tcb with his wife daily, hanging out with nfl coaches and running marathons (while being a pack a day smoker).

NYBF's bragging was oddly understated- it would just sneak up on you. You'd be having a normal discussion then -BOOM- off he'd go. Couldn't tell if he was serious or not sometimes. I don't recall exactly, but it seemed to become really apparent in a discussion on homeschooling, I believe...

Another guy that used to frequently appear around here was Riz. I'm not sure he didn't start the whole midget tranny thing.
