Why is Michigan’s coach rated safer than our coach? Seems like both are in the same situation.

This is just surreal that there are coaches rated safer than Bama's coach in the hot seat rankings. Granted, such a list is just fodder right now. But still.....we haven't had a coach who was deemed less safe than another coach since November 2006

I think Ryan Day's seat is a lot hotter than this article leads on.

I can see him having to run their "team accountant" into the dressing room at halftime of some big game to make some bank transfers to get the players to play harder in the second half.

I will use this as an opportunity though to say that 2 years ago some people on this board had Billy Napier at the top of their list for Sabans replacement

If "win enough" means not replicating Saban, I'd say yes. But if "win enough" means winning six NC's and nine SEC titles then I don't know if anyone will ever win enough.

Stepping out of conference, I would have to say that Deion Sanders at CU is on the hot-seat. If not, he should be. There is a lot of talk about the culture that he is allowing/promoting within the Colorado locker room that will destroy his coaching career if proven true.

WOW! What a read and if anything in that article is true all it will take is one of the players videoing it and releasing it to public for Prime to be out the door.

I was high on Napier a few years ago as a Saban replacement. Really thought he'd do better than he has @ UF so far.

Not unless he loses to UM. Most of the fan base has calmed down, for now. Beat UM, win the B1G and a game or two in the CFP and he will be as comfortable in his seat as any head coach can reasonably be. But if he loses to UM, only a national championship would save his job.

My top five, if Saban retired at the end of the season.

1. Lane Kiffin: I think the best choice right now.
2. Billy Napier. I know he hasn't done anything at Florida yet, but I've just got a feeling he's going to be the best coach in the SEC East sooner, rather than later. Also, if he progresses like I believe he will, he becomes my #1 in about 3 years.
3. Luke Fickell: I like what he's done at Cincinnati, and his experience running OSU for Tressell is a big plus.
4. Dave Aranda: My limited knowledge of him prevents him from being higher on my list, but he could wind up being the best replacement. I like what he's established at Baylor, and if he can sustain it, he'll be running a top 5 program in 3 years.
5. Kalen DeBoer: My wild card. He hasn't done much at the D1 level (Fresno St.: 3-3, 9-3), but I like his winning percentage, even if it was in the NAIA. Four straight trips to the NAIA championship with 3 wins is a great start to a coaching career. If Saban hangs around for 3-5 more years, the sample size on DeBoer at UW should be large enough to have a decent idea.

Ditto, Napier would be my choice. I think we're three to five years away. I have a feeling he is going to be successful at Florida just as he was in Louisiana. He runs his programs as close to CNS as anyone. My hope is that he has some successful years in Florida. If so, I think he would jump on the chance to come back to T-town. If CMT continues to have success at Michigan State he would be my second choice. With this said, I hope CNS coaches until he is 100 years old!

I like the Napier idea but if he's successful at Florida, he'd be a fool to leave unless they **** him off. I think, like when Coach Bryant retired, Saban will try to get an Offensive-minded guy for his replacement. Perkins reinvented Offense in Pro and eventually, College Football. He was WAY ahead of everyone else. The way the rules are now, we'll need an innovator to be successful. As great as Saban is, he, like every Defensive guy, is now totally reliant on his OC.

Kiffin - I actually believe he would be arrogant enough to think he can follow Saban plus I think he wants the job.
Napier - we shall see how he does at florida
Campbell - I still would like to see what he does at a better school than Iowa State before make a final judgement.

First reaction is Billy Napier. I really like his trajectory but only time will tell if has what it takes to build a top tier SEC program with the talent pool that is the state Florida. We shall see.

There’s nothing wrong with it, there is no way to predict the future and the boards are fun because we all get to try and talk about what we think may happen in the future. I’ve had huge misses and been mistaken way more than once. just simply showing that his name was indeed thrown around. So was Aranda at this time though after a 12-2 year only to go 3-9 last year.

I think Coach Prime is a "Prime Candidate" for firing with his actions toward the press this past week. He may not get another job at the NCAA level.

This was always gonna be his last year in Colorado anyway. Deion has no loyalty toward that program and only wants to promote “his kids”.
