I just noticed when looking at ESPN stats that the over/under for this game was 163.5. Final score was 110-54; math tells me that is 164 total for the final. Anyone who bet on the over or the under had to be sweating to the very end.

Alabama was favored by 27.5 so that was pretty much blown up well before the game ended.

my only concern last night was watching their little guard torment us a bit. We are so tall especially when Sears and Wrightsell are out, smaller guards will hurt us .

but I could see his guard rotations. And we are stacked at the 3-4 with Grant, Reid, Mo, Stephenson, and Youngblood. 2 true 5s. And 4 combo guards.

So impressed...of course we overwhelmed Ashville with size, speed and everything that mattered.

But this team is loaded!

Some thoughts:

Reid got the start. I thought he played a little nervously, but he's still getting his college feet under him. When he adjusts and finds his game, he'll be a difference maker. The way he played defense is impressive!

So impressed with #22! Dude is built for a freshman. Like Reid, when he gets his feet under him. Watch out!

A little concerned for Nelson. I know he's been injured and not played much, but I think we'll use him a lot in isolation. He's really good at backing down his defender and then finding the open man.

The difference in this team will be the bigs. We are so much better at the 4 and 5 positions. The guards will be the show a lot of games but if we go deep into the tourney it'll be because we have the bigs to match up against teams that will bang on us and slow down the tempo!

I think one of the biggest challenges for this team will be CNO figuring out rotation. And I believe he'll figure it out!

The rotation was great last night. Everyone was between 15-25 minutes.

I'm not sure how many minutes Sears got, but he had 20 points at the 13 minute mark of the second half. I don't think he played too much more after that, which is a great blessing for Sears, but he still got his 20 points.

I think he'll probably only average around 15 PPG this year, because of our deep roster, but Sears will be better for it!

Loved to see Sherrell come in and make an instant impact in his first minutes and add the Hard Hat award on top of that. He and Philon have been pleasant surprises. Philon may end up being a Bama great when it's all said and done.

Just a phenomenal start to the season. Looked like everyone played very well except for maybe Nelson but he is not up to game speed yet.

The FT% could be a little better but the FG% and 3PT% was fantastic.

Love the way we looked inside and the way we played defense.

Loved to see Sherrell come in and make an instant impact in his first minutes and add the Hard Hat award on top of that. He and Philon have been pleasant surprises. Philon may end up being a Bama great when it's all said and done.

TBF, I did see a lot of smiles last night. Wrightsell was happy to be healthy and back on the court, for sure!

I agree 100%, I think Oats found a diamond in the rough with Philon. Should have been a 5 star and top of his class. I've said it before but he reminds me so much of Colin Sexton.

Sad to see that Mallete will have to redshirt for injuries in the offseason. Hope he will stay around and play next year. I'm not sure about Cunningham though, seems like a Kris Parker situation where he gains weight for a year and hits the portal, or told to even.

Hope Mallete sticks around as well. I hope Cunningham stays as it's far different with him than Parker as Cunningham was #1 in his class for a short while if I understand. Love to see what he can do for us.
