Per the ABC Board:

All I'll say is that Jagermeister needs to send the city of Tuscaloosa a thank you note because I can guarantee you a large portion of sales in this state comes from this city.
Wow, 4 of the top 8 liquors are Vodka huh? We can thank the Ruskies for something.

Aristocrat can thank Florence for being in the top 5. I think sample bottles are handed out at freshman orientation.

I think they can thank most college towns. I can't count how many times I've wanted to slap people upside the head for intentionally buying the cheap stuff. Granted, most of the time you get a well drink anywhere... it's going to be Aristocrat used.

No Maker's :-(
People don't know what they're missin'.
Like me some Knob Creek too. Knob jokes in 3..2..1...
If you guys like those two brands, pick up a bottle of Buffalo Trace next time you're in your liquor store. I won't go as far as say I've sworn off Maker's and Knob, but I'll pick up the Buffalo Trace first every time. And you'll even pay less for it, too. And If you don't like it, I'll buy it back from you.

I have 1, 5, 17, and 22 in my cabinet except 17 is the anejo grade. Techinically, I have some Old Foresters in there but that was only bought for eggnog. I think I have 3 varieties of rum but none of the ones they listed...Woodford Reserve is good bourbon. I've heard good things about Bulleit, but haven't tried it.

Anyone want to recommend a decent scotch for a non scotch drinker? It's something I should probably just have on hand just in case and also to try.

I'm a bourbon and tennessee whiskey drinker, not scotch so I can't help you out there.

I have had a couple bottles of Bulleit and it is pretty good stuff, heavy on the rye, so it is very peppery on the tongue, and a short and simple finish. It is pretty good, though not for those looking for something mellow. they are going for a "frontier bourbon", so they want it to be fiery.

Woodford is very good as well. If you ever want to drop a bit more money pick up a bottle of their master's select. Simply outstanding.

I have found that my favorite Bourbon varies by the one I currently have in my hand, but I must say that Buffalo trace is quite good. I also very much enjoy Eagle Rare and Elmer T. Lee single barrel bourbons, both are great.

That depends on how much you want to spend. Some Scotch can cost a mint and some Scotch aficionados can be pretty snobby about their spirits. If you just want a Scotch to have at the house, it's tough to beat Johnnie Walker Black for the price.

I'd recommend Macallan 12. Good for beginner and a will satisfy most longtime scotch drinkers, also. Pretty easy on the wallet at around $40.

I agree for drinks like tequila, rums, whiskeys etc but vodka is basically grain and water. Maybe there is enough of a difference if drinking straight or on rocks but mixed its very hard to taste much difference.

I don't drink vodka enough to know. I normally steer clear of clear liquor, probably because I'm not a mixed drink guy. I don't like my alcoholic beverages to be sweet.
