Strand must have one of those -- super duper cell phones.....from some random diner in town? Where was he sitting? Too many gaps in the story....

With that said.....I like the idea of the show. I like the psychology. But, the cast is not captivating....but, on the flip side -- the first few seasons of "Walking" had characters that weren't overly engaging either. So, I'm patient....

My thoughts......the writers probably wanted us to believe he was conspiring with some bad element folks.......but IMHO.....it very well could be he was merely contacting a significant other of the female persuasion.....maybe a long distance relationship.....and he and her have made plans to meet up somewhere. This not yet disclosed to the other boat guests due to being on a "need to know" basis.

Just a theory of mine.

And it bears repeating.....those people Strand rescued are pretty clueless...he'd be better off leaving them behind.

That's what I told the wife last night. He's almost definitely a con-man at this point - Daniel's noting his reference to "a $10m boat" rather than "my $10m boat" was a pretty strong hint, imo.

I suspect mobile systems are pretty much automated at this point. Unless / until the power goes out and their system generators run out of fuel I image they'd still work.

I thought that with it being so early in the collapse that it would not be highly unlikely that some of the infrastructure may still work.

Looks like a regular satellite phone. Strand is the only one that keeps me thinking. But you're right, the cast just isn't working for me.

Stephen Yeun just started filming a movie in Korea. He could have all of his scenes filmed and be back in time to start filming in May/June, but not looking good.
