Oh no! How will we ever replace his 3 pts per game? How will we replace his defensive intensity? How will we replace his marksmanship?

Senario Hillman, Andrew Steele: We'll do it.

Did anyone on the team have any defensive intensity? At the rate we are going we will end up like Auburn with only 6 or 7 players on scholarship. You see where that has gotten them.

Yes, Senario Hillman was a better and more intense defender than Tubbs. Care to dispute that?

If we end up with only 6 or 7 players on scholarship, I'll eat my shoe and never post again. If Steele, Gee, and Hendrix all left, we'd still have 9 guys on scholarship for 08-09. That's not going to happen.

A few years ago there was a signing rule that was something like a max of 5 signess in 1 year and a max of 7 in 2 years. It really hurt us in replacing a previous max exodus. There was discussion about that rule being abolished? Anyone know if it's still on the books?

You sure are putting a lot of faith in a player that averaged 10 minutes a game. I hope he can live up to the hype he has been given.

There is a problem. Look at the number of players that have transfered sine 2003.

Shawn Taylor
Akini Adkins
Glenn Miles
Al Weber
Verice Cloyd
Avery Jukes
Pico Pickett
Justin Tubbs

These are just a few that I can remember. At least 8 players since 2003. I'm sure you can come up with something negative to say about each one but none of them were give a chance.

How do you know this? THis sounds like one of those, "Put McElroy in, he can't be worse than JPW" type of comments.

I agree with you. And I can assure you, if Avery Jukes can play at Butler University, he's a pretty good ball player.
I personally think Tubbs was a very good defender. Some games he was sent in specifically for defensive purposes.
Simple fact. When so many players are looking to leave a program, there's something wrong inside the program.
I have no idea what's going on exactly but I do have a feeling that the title of this thread is not that far off base.

Let's see what those 8 or 9 will bring: no power forward, no proven point guard, a 6-1 shooting guard with no shot ( great hops, though), no proven post man, and an unpredictable small forward. We will have a coach who strongest quality, recruiting, is mitigated by his inability to develop players and more than negatively compensated by his propensity to run said players off.

I would like to say something very positive about where we are as a program at CMG, Year X but nothing comes to mind. Just another big rock and and another insurmountable hill . . .

agreed good points

I won't be surprised at all if Mikhail Torrence is the next to request a transfer and Gee announces he's going Pro.

We are at a point where it will take 5-6 years or more to recover and be competitive in the SEC West.

Not they were great but Justin Jonus and Lakory Daniels also transferred.

Even though Tubbs wasn't a great contributor it still is a bad sign for this program. It doesn't look good. This is not what CMG needed after a terrible season.

The coaching and use of him is why he did not get PT.

A post player might be transferring out as well a statement is being made by the players.

So do yall think the players know something that we dont? Is this a sure sign that Gottfried is going to be fired? At this rate, Gottfried is going to have to hold a Dick Vermeilesque open tryout to be able to field a team next year. This is ridiculous!

I'm going to restrict the flat statements that CMG is gone, with no proof being offered. It is simply not true. He has been assured of another year. Tubbs and Pickett's leaving will not change that. The only thing which would change it would be for a "deep pocket" to step forward and write the check and I just don't see that happening. Those are the facts as of today, and, unless they change, I'm not going to allow baseless statements that he's about to be fired. PS: The players will be the last to know...
