During the realignment talks, I realized the SEC would have 3 Tigers if Mizzou did accept an invite. There are some mascots that seem very common. I mean if you go to Idaho and say "I'm a Tiger fan," will they know which school? Probably not. If you say "I'm a fan of the Crimson Tide," will they? Most likely. There are common mascots all throughout the country, but there is only one CRIMSON TIDE. Roll Tide! :BigA:

Imagine if we somehow got Mizzou and Clemson to come on board. There is only one Crimson Tide! It's also worth mentioning that there is only one place where eagles fly into glass sky boxes.

Roll Tide! How about the Delta State Fighting Okra for an original mascot? I guarantee that there are no other fighting okra's out there just like there are no other crimson tide's!

There are a few high school teams that have adopted our name across the country, which is pretty cool.

I don't know where Auburn, Missouri, Memphis, etc got their names from but ours came from the Brigade that I deployed with twice.

"LSU's nickname is a throwback to its Confederate heritage and was drawn from the Civil War fame of two Louisiana brigades who fought so fiercely that they became known as the "Louisiana Tigers."

Also, the official colors of Mardi Gras (originally from Mobile) is Purple, Gold, and Green. LSU and Tulane were to play their first collegiate game and needed uniforms. The LSU rep went for material and chose Purple & Gold (canary yellow). Tulane was left with the Green. This is how the team colors originated.
