Time for Saban to head off into the Sunset

Coach Saban has earned the right and respect to leave on his own terms.
This. At the height of his ridiculous run of playing for a championship almost every year he hit the point where he had given Alabama one of the greatest runs in College football. I just started telling people when he started to slide a bit I was going to keep my mouth shut and let him tell us when it was time to go. He earned that. If it gets bad, it gets bad. I'm sticking to that.

Different time from when? I've coached High school football for over 10 years and kids are still the same now as they've always been. Times are no different, what's different is the leadership on this team.
So the kids you deal with don’t get on social media after a loss? Some kids take things harder than others and some just move in to what’s next. I’ve been coaching since 1990 so YES, they are much different then when I started.

Lose one big game and the lynch mob starts crying. I've said this before. We are spoiled to have not only one but two legendary coaches to pace the sidelines at the Capstone. Once Nick is gone it is over fellas. We will slide right back into mediocrity. Maybe not immediately, but it will happen, steadily, no matter what. There simply is no better coach out there right now, at this moment, that is better than our 71 year old who built this dynasty. So you people wanting to push him out are a joke. You think Kiffin is your savior? Kirby? Sark? You are dead wrong. Those of us that were Bama fans between the Bryant and Saban eras know what suffering is man. The smart money says to ride this good fortune for as long as possible.

Others would make themselves available.

At least, I hope they would. I'm sure Kiffin would make the move from Ole Miss. This is the job he covets, anyway.
Kiffin would leave Oxford so fast he would set his house on fire instead of taking the time to pack.

I’m really interested to see the ole miss game. How the team looks in that game will tell you a lot. I do think if Saban doesn’t feel he can right the ship he may ride off into the sunset. He will make that decision and I think he will make the right one when it’s time.

“It’s awfully important to win with humility. It’s also important to lose. I hate to lose worse than anyone, but if you never lose you won’t know how to act. If you lose with humility, then you can come back.” - Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant

He deserves it. And it's time for us to see him off.

He still has time for family. He's the GOAT and always will be.

Sure, finish out the season.

It's obvious other team recruiters are already using this to recruit against him. Else why would we not have a QB ready now?

Anyways, I would support it. The man has given EVERYTHING for this university. He's the GOAT in all of CFB and obviously the GOAT at Bama compared to our other coaches.

It's time. Let this man enjoy the rest of his life. RTR.
This is the worst take of all time. Just pitiful.

Bobby Bowden and any other coaches I know of didn't call up their respective President and say I has become difficult for me to work the hours that I once did or I have made so much money doing this that my family, other business activities, tax issues, public relations activities and tv interviews take a huge amount of my time. Instead they went on because earning millions per year is an awfully attractive inducement to cover potential bad investment decisions. You can choose what of that may apply at Alabama if any.
Nick Saban is not Bobby Bowden or Joe Pa or any other coach. If that’s the way you think about Nick Saban , you don’t understand what drives the man. What makes him tick. Money is not the main motivation , it’s an added bonus. He is set for life and has enough business interests so his kids and grandkids will be ok. It’s the competition. If he is no longer competitive, I’m certain he will step aside. The man hasn’t lost more than 2 games in a season in 15 years and people want to run him off. this conversation shouldn’t even start until coach has a bad year.

Your opinion, and a huge percentage of all participants on sports boards in general, on what is going on in a coaches mind or predictions of spreads in a football game are like mine worth absolutely 0. I would predict however that many opinions will change with the ebb a flow of this season and any that follow.
