ND has had some good WRs and obviously TE production in the past few seasons...couple that with his running focus and i think this is a great hire...he will have more talent to put into his schemes! Roll Tide!

Last season Bama ran 51% and passed 49% while Notre Dame ran 61% and passed 39%. I don't know if that was because Rees is more conservative or if he simply didn't have the QB to do anything else. If Rees is more conservative and Saban wants to get back to more power football due to UGA's success then maybe that is why he chose Rees. I think in today's game though that kind of offense can only work if you have a Top 5 defense like UGA.

Questionable quarterback talent. He got the most out of the talent under center.

From what I've gathered the lack of "talent" at QB (and Wr) dictated a lot of the play-calling and game-planning. ND lost their starting QB to injury in the second game of the season. So basically, from game three on Rees is running an offense with the 2nd string QB.

CNS has been watching one team these past few years, and that is Georgia. They win with a dominate O and D line. They play smash mouth football, and they run the ball and control the game. To be honest this is the way the old Saban wanted to play on the O side of the ball, and I think this is what he wants to go back to. I think that CNS believes that Coach Rees is the person who can turn Bama back to what it used to be. Now, he has to find the DC that can also turn the D back 10 years into the type of defense we all know and love.
