TLDR; drop off your Jeep for an oil change, employee kills another employee with your Jeep and you’re liable by Michigan law.

I’m sure this isn’t the only state with some convoluted laws, but this person is potentially on the hook for something that he had no hand in.

This is nuts. Giving the keys to a dealership for an oil change makes you responsible for what the staff does with the car? And the company isn’t liable for a death caused by the company allowing an employee to drive a car illegally?

I guess this sign goes right below the sign that says the dealership isn't responsible for items stolen out of your vehicle while in their custody, whether it be by their employees or someone else.
