I've been concerned as well. I know Saban always had a handful of 5* recruits each year. So does Georgia and other top teams. I believe it important for a National Championship run.

He's following the GOAT of recruiting so if there's a slight dropoff it is to be expected.

But, give the man a couple of years to fire off some impressive stats/wins/championships and the recruiting will take care of itself.

BTW, did y'all see the # of Washington guys that got drafted? He knows talent when he sees it.

Tied Bama with 10. I don't know the breakdown of guys he brought in to UW vs guys who were already there, but that's impressive from an eval + development standpoint

Was recruited by Michigan State, Penn State and Clemson out of high school.

Exactly. Seems we have this discussion even when Saban was our HC this time of year about every year. We are Alabama and we have a great staff, support staff, facilities, and incredible tradition so not even slightly worried. DeBoer can tell recruits Alabama/he had 20 NFL draft picks. I am actually incredibly pleased with what we already have and who we are pursuing.

Hate to lose him. A freshman 4* out of California. He was turning heads in practice. He was named All American Bowl's Man of the Year Award winner. Oh, well. Good luck to him. He obviously knows where he's going.

I’m indifferent. There will be some player who leave because they don’t mesh with the new staff. Bringing in Howard earlier today tells me they knew this was coming.

It is a weird case. True freshman is entering portal with "don't contact sign". It is not necessary about money in this case. Don't know what it is yet. We will find out once he will announce his transfer destination.

You can request out of a NLI and usually get it so its not much better.

Oregon seems to be the destination fwiw.
