Sanon reclassed to 2024 so he is technically a High School Senior currently playing D1 basketball. He would definitely be someone to look at with an exceptionally high ceiling.Hearing some smoke around Joson Sanon from Arizona State. I don't know that he's officially in the portal yet, but it's been reported that he plans to enter, and to watch out for Alabama when he does, so sounds like we may be making a push. Good size and pretty good shooter. It sounds like he's got the potential to be a very good defender also, but that's still a work in progress. I think I'd prefer him over Eaglestaff tbh, but Nate knows best.

Philon interesting as he has games he looks like 1st round type pick then other seems to disappear. I think with new NIL deals he might stay and be guy that sees a jump in production next year to get a 1st round grade for sure.We will lose as you said Grant, Sears, Cliff, Youngblood then add in probably Stevenson, Philon. Hopefully not Sherrell, or anyone else. Will be a heavy portal year to have a competitive roster again it seems like. Need a better ball handler and big.
A Cliff'esque move or two will definitely be a priority this coming switch-a-roo season...Philon interesting as he has games he looks like 1st round type pick then other seems to disappear. Right now I see these guys on roster as of today. Sure 1 or 2 will enter portal as that just the norm
1. Holloway 6”1 guard
2. Philon 6”4 guard
3. Wrightsell 6”3 guard
4. Mallette 6”5 wing
5. Reid 6”8 forward
6. Dioubate 6”7 power forward
7. Stevenson 6”11 power forward
8. Cunningham 6”7 small forwad
9. Sherrill 6”10 center
10. Hannah 6”4 shooting guard
11. Jemison 6”7 forward
12. Allen 6”7 forward
Looking at the roster we might be looking at size more then guards that we have mentioned.

Magoon Gwath would be very similar type play. 7 foot center from San Diego State. He averaged 2.5 blocks as a freshman this year and a super athletic big.A Cliff'esque move or two will definitely be a priority this coming switch-a-roo season...
This would be huge! Guy is a playerDonovan Dent from New Mexico just entered portal. He is 6”2’ guard that averaged 20.4 points 6.4 assists and shot 41% from 3. I watched him few times and he was impressive definitely a guy that replace some of Sears offense.
That would make some sense with Hodgson going down there.South Florida?
I would say as far as keeping Philon and Reid it will come down to how much we want to pay them but if either get a decent draft grade they are probably gone. I do agree though size will be the big issue and one guard type probably.Philon interesting as he has games he looks like 1st round type pick then other seems to disappear. I saw his name earlier but didn’t think he would be great fit unless they think Stevenson is gone. He not true big man at just 6”8 and doesn’t shoot the ball well either. He gives me lot of Mo Wague vibes. I hope we are past that type of player talent wise bringing in guys. I think we should be looking more at game changer type players than role players as we only have 2-3 spots. Now if someone like Stevenson or Dioubate leave he makes little more sense.

Reid is almost certain to remain in college as he’s considered a mid/late 2nd round - undrafted player.I would say as far as keeping Philon and Reid it will come down to how much we want to pay them but if either get a decent draft grade they are probably gone. My gut says that Philon will return and so will Reid. Not sure exactly what Reid has shown this year that he would get a 1st or high second Rd grade. He had a 1st Rd grade before the season, but I think he could use another year, maybe two.Philon interesting as he has games he looks like 1st round type pick then other seems to disappear. In fact, more than 700 players entered the portal on just day one. For context, the NCAA record was 291 set in 2024. In 2023 just 175 entered after 24 hours and that was considered a high amount.
Since Monday, that total has grown to over 1,000.
The NCAA allows each of its 352 full member basketball programs to hand out 13 scholarships, totaling 4,576 in a single school year.
With over 1,000 players entering the portal, that would be over 22 percent of eligible scholarship recipients looking for a new home.
"When does it open, the portal? This Monday? Welcome to my world," Calipari said per 247Sports' Brad Crawford. "So Monday, we're really preparing for a game and we're having individual meetings about, 'are you coming back? What are you doing?' You know, if they put their name in the portal, they probably don't have an option to come back, (but) you care about the kids.
