Just when things were looking quiet. I see on the National Hurricane Center that a tropical depression has formed and is possibly tracking to the Florida panhandle. I hope it doesn't strengthen.
It would actually get moved to Mobile.So...we move the LSU/Florida game to BR this year......and then play the next 3 in Gainesville? :rolleye2:
Hopefully, and it looks like, it will be a weak 1.Just when things were looking quiet. I see on the National Hurricane Center that a tropical depression has formed and is possibly tracking to the Florida panhandle. I hope it doesn't strengthen.
By more west I hope you mean disappears or degrades to a spitting rain. Between Mexico's earthquakes, Houston's hurricane, and the shaft of Florida getting hit I don't think any area of the Gulf Coast needs another major storm, no matter the category. The projected path has bumped to the west now (towards New Orleans). I hope it moves a little more west (and stays weak); we could use some rain at our house when it moves way inland while I am away on vacation.
Just saw this myself and I am hoping for the same, but I think the Florida and Alabama gulf coast will catch all of it.The projected path has bumped to the west now (towards New Orleans). You never want to be on the eastern side of the circulation with these storms.Just saw this myself and I am hoping for the same, but I think the Florida and Alabama gulf coast will catch all of it.

Yeah, which is why I hope it goes even farther west. I doubt it will. Initially, it was headed to Tallahassee, but I think we are going to get all of it. I think I am going to send my wife to Jacksonville. You never want to be on the eastern side of the circulation with these storms.
What I saw at noon locally still said cat 1; Gulf is warm enough and unless that cold front picks up speed, this thing could easily be a 1 or stronger.Spann's been watching it for a while now, even when conditions were only favorable a week ago. Both models have it peaking as a TS, and hitting somewhere in LA/MS before sweeping up through MS into central AL before continuing NE and dissappating. Going to be a wet Sunday and Columbus day.
But my petunia's are getting dry.:eek2:I gots 450ac of cotton that don't need any of this. Can we get a cold front to sweep down sunday and push this thing wayyyyyyyyyy east...like cut straight across the stem of florida?
Yes, that's what the NHC is saying. GFS and ECWMF (Euro) still forecast it as a TS for now. What I saw at noon locally still said cat 1; Gulf is warm enough and unless that cold front picks up speed, this thing could easily be a 1 or stronger.
