I'm old enough(on TideFans) to remember when we had a poster here who happened to be Muslim, and the way he was treated. At the time, I had a small amt of leverage, but was overruled by the site owner, who. said(I'm paraphrasiing) that "he didn't much care if people were bashing Islam". At the same time, we were fielding complaints about criticisms of Christianity(I was at the time playing Devils' Advocate).

I was eventually told to leave because I refused to stop talking about Republican Jesus.

We allow criticism of basically everyone's beliefs here - I cannot imagine anyone sees differently.

Nor have I passed judgement on those who believe in islam.

I'm simply saying that it's a religion of hate and oppression, and the results of where it is are proof.

That you and I know muslims who are not hate-filled or terrorists does not mean anything wrt to the data set that we have that clearly shows islam to be an oppressive religion.

Treating a PARTICULAR forum member a certain way is MUCH different than political satire that pokes fun at a certain demographic.

And of course there are limitations in place on the latter.

If that person you mention was picked on or bullied in any way - I would hope our moderator(s) would have addressed the situation.

You and I don't agree on a whole lot, but we are in agreement here. No room for bullying.

I will only say that moderation here has come a long way. Yet, preconceived notions rooted in ignorance remain in some parts. Even in the moderation. Which is the human condition.

Iran says it is halting oil tanker traffic through Strait of Hormuz after Israel strikes Lebanon

Iran has halted the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz over Israel’s strikes in Lebanon, the Fars news agency reports. Fars reports that two oil tankers were allowed to pass through the strait this morning after the ceasefire between Iran and the US took effect.

Beginning to look like Trump just chickened out again, and there is no real deal because everyone else is still blowing stuff up.

If you take Islam and the teachings of "the prophet"/"pedophile" in the quran and the hadiths seriously it will lead to oppression suffering and death.

As I read that whole scenario I thought “don’t threaten me with a good time”

What if the shoe was on the other foot?
