The Trump cult characterization doesn't refer to all of his voters, just the ones who think the guy can do no wrong and show unquestioned loyalty to him. You can often pick them out in real life by their attire, boats, flags, etc. and online by their refusal to accept any criticism of their dear leader.

Conservatives have been critical of celebs like Streisand and others who display the "sacrifice for thee, but not for me" lifestyle. It's the same thing.
