I've spelled it 'superb owl' for years as a slight to the NFL for going after any business that uses their TM'd name for the game, even threatening lawsuits against mom-and-pop businesses for not paying a licensing fee to use the name to promote parties at their establishments.

I'm a huge supporter of IP, but the NFL has gone way overboard.
I remember the NFL going after church functions that used "Super Bowl Party". I notice that every year the local bars call it "The Big Game".

The Trump cult characterization doesn't refer to all of his voters, just the ones who think the guy can do no wrong and show unquestioned loyalty to him. You can often pick them out in real life by their attire, boats, flags, etc. and online by their refusal to accept any criticism of their dear leader.

You know one now, Bazza. It's beyond hypocritical for anyone to call for draconian and injudicious cost-cutting and then spend (or support the spending of) millions of dollars on an ego show. Conservatives have been critical of celebs like Streisand and others who display the "sacrifice for thee, but not for me" lifestyle. It's the same thing.
Oh, believe me, my family and my friends and their families absolutely discuss this. A LOT. We all know too many people who feel endangered by this bunch. We were going to join our friends in a protest in downtown West Palm today but my hubby's oncologist changed his appointment today. Bazza, forgive me please, but you seem to live in a very red part of Florida. In Palm Beach County, there is a much greater mixture of cultures and a lot of Dems. We discuss. We join groups and write letters. We rally. We protest. Our friends, our families, we canvass and raise money. All legally and all peacefully. We feel that this crew is very dangerous.

Be warned that Bazza will be around to express his disbelief soon.

Aw shucks, Bazza, are you going to continue to imply that I'm a liar? If you're not careful, I might start to doubt that "friendly fellow" image you've worked so hard to cultivate. :ROFLMAO:
Good morning Mr. Huck.

Sorry if I may have offended you.

I was simple asking for clarification.

I would never call anyone a liar on an Internet message board. Doesn't seem to have an upside to it and it certainly wasn't how I was raised.

Carry on, sir......

This kind of legislation is how you wipe out the right to vote of a half the voters in the country mostly poor and minorities...

I don't even have a passport and I haven't seen my birth certificate since I played high schools sports...

This bill is essentially making everyone re-certify their citizenship in order to participate in our government going forward.

Trump: "Schumer is a Palestinian as far as I'm concerned. He's become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He's not Jewish anymore. He's a Palestinian."
The entire Democrat party has become Palestinian. They used to show up for Jews but now that Palestinians register as being more "oppressed" the Jews have to take a back seat. Rape and murder? Not a problem when your "people" are being oppressed.

This is an inaccurate assessment of the Democratic Party. Certainly the very vocal and more left wing segment can be considered pro-Palestinian, but the Biden Administration (representing the broader and more moderate membership) was very supportive of Israel.

Rubio just explained where the Trumpian notion of Canada becoming a US state originated from.

MSN.com: Rubio defends Trump’s 51st state rhetoric while on Canadian soil
"I'll tell you how it came about: [Trump] was in a meeting with Trudeau and Trudeau basically says that if the U.S. imposes tariffs on Canada, then Canada couldn't survive as a nation state, at which point the president said, 'Well, you should become a state,'" Rubio said.
Trudeau refers to Canada as a nation state, as in a country, and Trump hears the word state and concludes that Canada should be a US state.

Are you Jewish? I'm guessing that you are not. Do you read any Jewish or Israeli news sources? I am Jewish and I do read those sources and I can tell you that we are quite divided on this here and in Israel. Did you know that in the US and in Israel, a lot of Jews do not support Netanyahu, Trump or their parties? American Jews, in particular, are not Trump or Republican supporters by a large margin. Why? Because these days, Republicans are right wing and most of us are not. Did you know that even some of the IDF doesn't like what Netanyahu is doing? A lot of us are horrified at these tactics and feel that it's creating a bigger problem than we already had around the world. We're pretty divided on a lot of this but we still lean mostly left and that means not typically Republican. Orthodox and Hasidim are a different story, to a good degree. I haven't lived in Alabama for 45 years so I don't know where Jews there fall on this so much any more. I do know that there was once a restricted country club in Montgomery. It was, in fact, the Montgomery Country Club and Jews were not allowed. I have no idea what their policy is now. Antisemitism was pretty hard and heavy there in those days and it sure wasn't coming from liberals. Of course it was like that in those days where I live now, too. Mostly in Palm Beach because they are now and always have been....interesting folk.
