I don’t care if they are or not to be honest. Security clearances aren’t generally worth the paper they are printed on from what I can tell with as much leaking and mishandling of information that takes place.I'm absolutely fine with the audits of every government agency, provided it's done by qualified people in an organized and transparent way.
I'll ask again: why do you not want DOGE staff to be required to pass security checks?
Do you find that referring to those with whom you disagree as hypocrites enhances your arguments? I think I've stated my position pretty clearly. Why would you doubt my word?I don’t care if they are or not to be honest. As far as audits it’s pretty apparent no one was minding the store so to speak. The system we have isn’t working so let’s do something else. If this were a Dem you’d be all for it. It’s only because it’s Trump that there is a problem with it.
1. Yes, they could do exactly that. Doesn't mean they will, of course, but it's never a good idea to give people who haven't been properly vetted access to PII--particularly through . Hell, PII is a major component of annual cybersecurity training.Seriously, what do you think they are going to do? Sell people’s SS numbers to scammers from China? This is just something else to complain about instead of dealing with the rot in the federal government. It’s more fun for the left to complain about something Elon did today. It’s tired and sad to be honest.

2. Yes, you're correct: People on the left have problems with someone completely outside of normal checks and balances weilding so much power over the government. Talk about crazy. They probably also think it's a bad idea to have audits performed by people with no training in accounting or auditing.

Of course, you are right, but government agencies can have access to PII if (a) they need it for a legitimate government function (and finding corruption is surely a legitimate government function) and (b) they safeguard the info in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. I believe (a) has been met and I see no credible evidence that (b) has been violated, just vague assertions that "I do not want DOGE to be able to access to my information."Past bad behavior seems a curious excuse to quit caring about security.
As I've said, the above (in bold) is not my assertion. I have no issue with the appropriate and necessary government agency having access to the info contained within any other department. I support finding and eliminating the waste in government. It's the proper vetting of the individuals who have access to the information upon which I must insist. Why is this such a problem?Of course, you are right, but government agencies can have access to PII if (a) they need it for a legitimate government function (and finding corruption is surely a legitimate government function) and (b) they safeguard the info in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. That's the purpose of security, to make sure they dont!Seriously, what do you think they are going to do? Sell people’s SS numbers to scammers from China? This isn't directed at you but I suspect no one has a problem with this, though in transparency, I do believe this is just another roadblock that those who oppose Trump (and therefore Elon) are throwing up. If DOGE workers achieved the appropriate security clearances (I'm assuming they've not, but I don't know), I believe there would be some other excuse formulated / propagated, because team D has decided that literally everything Trump does is evil. It's the proper vetting of the individuals who have access to the information upon which I must insist. If only security clearance meant this was the case. That's the purpose of security, to make sure they dont!
It was only a matter of time that the University of Maine system would cave, after Trump pulled federal funding to force its hand. But the commitment these universities and politicians have to being on the 20 side of an 80-20 issue is remarkable.
It took punitive action and a Title IX investigation to get here, but the absurdity of biological males in women's collegiate athletic competitions in Maine is officially over.
Per the press release, the Title IX investigation prompted a response confirming compliance with the executive order.
I can't speak for anyone who would oppose Trump's actions just because Trump committed them. Being critical of something simply because of the source is as foolish as agreeing with everything for the same reason. Since there are clearly Republicans/conservatives who find no fault with anything Trump does, it also seems reasonable to assume that there would be Democrats reacting as you describe. It probably does describe most Democratic politicians, just as it's almost impossible to find a Republican who expresses any hesitation regarding their unwavering support of Trump. This isn't directed at you but I suspect no one has a problem with this, though in transparency, I do believe this is just another roadblock that those who oppose Trump (and therefore Elon) are throwing up. Most Americans would trade the World Cup for a cup of coffeeOK, so just trying to follow the Trump narrative, we are back to Biden was heavily involved, devious and pulling off a bunch of crimes. I ask because this afternoon we will be back to the guy’s brain lobes were not connected.
meanwhile, here’s a nice thought: the United States is scheduled to hold the World Cup next year and the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028. Might be time for a bunch of countries to stick together and stick it to the United States again with a boycott.
Just remember: when that happens, it will somehow not be the fault of the guy whose fault it is.?
