I'd be willing to bet that this wasn't the 1st time that Signal was used, hopefully it's the last. I wonder what Waltz meant to do when he included Jeff Goldberg on this group chat? How did that even happen? Why didn't anybody in this group ask "Who is JG?"

There is a reason we don't use chatting apps to discuss classified.

Then again, on Januaryv 10, 1940, a Luftwaffe pilot carrying a staff officer with the invasions plans for Germany's upcoming invasion of Belgium, accidentally crossed the into Belgium and crash landed near Mechelen, Belgium. The staff officer was busy trying to burn the p[lans when Belgian authorities arrived and put out the flames. Thus, the Belgian authorities five months before the invasion, had a copy of Germany's invasion plan.

Hegseth immediately denied that it ever happened. Yet the WH national security team said it was completely credible.

Hell, the Chinese and Russians don't even have to go thru much trouble to spy on us now.

Yes, the comparison would be if Hillary had actually held discussions with a journalist days before we launched an attack on someone. Assuming this happened and she wiped it, she's still miles ahead of Captain Chaos and the Psycho Fants.

Waltz at a minimum should be fired and probably Hegseth, too.

We are being led by a con man who couldn't run the easiest con of all (casinos) effectively and yet a primitive strain of American "masculinity" thinks he's "tough."

Yeah, I saw that - and AFTER the administration had admitted it (a rare honest admission).

The follow-on question to Paul Masson Pete should have been:
"So just to be clear, you think it's better that your own team member added whom you call, and I quote, 'a discredited journalist' to your classified chat?"

When President Reagan was shot - as anyone can imagine - his Cabinet and NSA and everyone was in total chaos. (For those who don't remember, VP Bush was in Texas, ironically staying the night in the same hotel where JFK spent his last evening alive). And this was during the Cold War. Despite all the stress, all the fear, and everything that normal humans would feel, there was a point where they were about to hold discussions about how to handle things if the USSR got out of hand or someone tried to act thinking the US was unable to do anything. At one point (it's on tape) at the beginning of the discussions, the question came: "Does everyone in the room have a clearance?"

They paused for a moment under unplanned and extreme duress to, you know, FOLLOW THE LAW and proper ethics and to try and make sure everyone was permitted to be there.


And then we have this and you know what's the most preposterous part about it?

This CANNOT possibly be surprising to ANYONE who has followed this leader's approach to the White House the last decade. The most surprising thing is how not surprising it really is.

This is why I wonder if this was some sort of play. It just makes no sense, even if you believe the individuals aren't the sharpest knives in their respective drawers...

If they were truly using Signal for this purpose, then this was the equivalent to getting a DUI - it's a virtual certainty this isn't he first time he drove drunk, just the first time he was caught.

"Time to reevaluate"?!! LOL! How about it's time to fire some people and clean up the clown show?!

And the Vice President needs to be publicly reprimanded by the President for participating. But I doubt any of this will happen.
