Yes. I am sure that is why he was taken there.Heard that Cecil Hurt tweeted that Tua was flown by helicopter to St. Vincent's in Birmingham. Dr. Andrews is based there I presume?
That was Raekwon Davis not Tua.They showed him on crutches at the game earlier. Not sure when that was.

I've been reading that a dislocation without a fracture has a 2-3 month recovery time.Hopefully his hip is just dislocated and there is no fracture. They can just give him a little anesthesia and pop it back in place. Not sure after that about recovery time. RTR
The best case with a partial dislocation (can't remember what it is called) - he could be back for the CFP. But that assumes no breaks, no ligament damage, no blood vessel issues and no nerve damage, all of which are possible with this type of injury.Hopefully his hip is just dislocated and there is no fracture. They can just give him a little anesthesia and pop it back in place. Not sure after that about recovery time. RTR
Yeah, if it was a complete dislocation, he is done at Alabama.I've been reading that a dislocation without a fracture has a 2-3 month recovery time.
He has a facility there, but his group is still also in Birmingham. If he is not at St. Vincent's, Dr. Leemak is. They probably sent him wherever their hip specialist is.Jim Andrews is not in Birmingham, he is in Pensacola.
That’s best case and it would still end his season. I’ve seen that injury on a football field and the kid screamed literally for 45 minutes until the paramedics could give him a shot for pain.Hopefully his hip is just dislocated and there is no fracture. They can just give him a little anesthesia and pop it back in place. Not sure after that about recovery time. RTR
This. I believe their clinic is in Gulf Breeze. If their best hip guy isn`t in Birmingham he`s either already landed or in the air.He has a facility there, but his group is still also in Birmingham. If he is not at St. Vincent's, Dr. Leemak is. They probably sent him wherever their hip specialist is.
His group's Alabama operations are based at St. VincentsJim Andrews is not in Birmingham, he is in Pensacola.
Agreed, and a sad way to end it. He did some great things, but I feel some chips were left on the table. This guy could have won three plus a couple of Heisman's with a few other things going Bama's way.Just to state what pretty much everyone else is saying, best case scenario he is back for the postseason.
In this case, if it's not the playoffs I doubt they'd risk it. We've probably seen the end of the Tua era.
