Tyler Love Committed to Alabama Friday at 6 PM

Tyler Love Question

When is he going to announce his decision?

And am I the only one that thinks if he commits, then Barrett Jones commits, then Jerrell Harris commits, and this little train starts rolling even faster when Ivan Matchett brings in Barron, J Jones, Harbin etc. This is my prophecy if T Love commits. If he goes to tha Dawgs, perish the thought!

I think I should add that I don't think T Love is critical to this recruiting class in the same way that A SMith was two years ago, but I do think he has made friendships with many recruits that we are highly recruiting. But I do not think his commitment somewhere else, shuts us out for those recruits that he has relationships with from still coming to the University of Alabama

Love will announce on Sunday. I'm not sure if we can expect "dominos" to fall as a result, but we COULD (potentially) have a slew before Sept. 1

Am I wrong to think that this could be bad news for us since he he recently spoke so highly of UGA and Richt?

My thinking is that since he is "Bama boy" it's probably good news that he is announcing early. If he announces that he's going to GA, then he's got to put up with six months of crap from everyone around him -- telling him he should change his mind and go to Bama, etc. Therefore if he were going to GA I'd guess he'd wait until NSD.

...just my logic, though. I've never been in his shoes.

That's sorta my thinking, too. However, he is a very mature kid. If any prospect could take that heat, it'd be him. :BigA:

Get this: Tyler Love, Julio Jones, and Arthur Brown... all 5-stars! Bama is in at least 'good' position on these, according to what any of us know at this point.

Other rivals.com 5-stars:
We're still on Terelle Pryor's list, although that spot is about to be taken by Star Jackon
We're also on TJ Bryant's list (nice last name)

Three 5-stars in this class would cause me to do backflips.

Consider the increased interest of other OL recruits in Bama, like Joe Looney (who could commit with Star) and Dallas Thomas. This is one way to get top-shelf recruits to go ahead and commit...make them think they will lose their spot.

Granted, Saban would find a way to bring Love aboard regardless...

Anyway, I think Love is Bama bound. RT

When you say he is going to talk to coach I am assuming you mean Coach Saban, right?

I feel confident Tyler Love is Bama bound. He could be a great recruiting tool for us to land more top talent in this class.

I love the fact that Love is announcing early. I remember earlier this year CNS asked him to go ahead and commit to Alabama. In my opinion it means that Love has taken a serious look at the other schools that he is interested in and now it is time to commit to Alabama. I agree with the logic expressed earlier in this thread if he were going to any other school he most likely would wait and announce right before NSD or on NSD. I also agree that if Love commits to Bama that it will bring in Barrett Jones and possibly Jerrell Harris.

Hopefully these guys will be the 2008 Bama offensive lineman signees:

Tyler Love
Barrett Jones
Dallas Thomas
Joe Looney

That would be good stuff. For some reason, other than the obvious, I'm really high on Jerrell Harris. I think he can be a very special player. I plan to catch a Gadsden City game this year. And to go even further, if Love commits and it brings in Harris I would think we would be in a great position for Dre Kirkpatrick for '09. ;):biggrin2:
