ULM wrap-up: Bama flips the switch from its opener in total takedown of Warhawks

As bad as Alabama looked against Florida State, it looked just as good or better against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.
The key now is to figure out which extreme this Alabama team is closer to – the pretender it looked like against the Seminoles, or the well-oiled execution machine it was against the Warhawks.

I agree with your analysis, @JessN, as well as the point it is hard to see who's the real team - loss against FSU, or the win against ULM. We may not fully known until after the UGA game, at least. Given the short-term headlines, however, Alabama exceeded the expectations after the FSU loss. Hope they can keep it going.

Thanks, Jess. Great job as always. Last night felt good, realizing the level of the competition was not the same as last week Great to see the bounce back. Now excited to see how ready we are for next week and then, especially, the next week against UGA.

Thanks, Jess! I've been impressed with Kevin Riley. He's relatively small, at 5'11", and 191 lbs. But he can definitely help move the chains. CKD said Riley can do things the others can't do. Not sure what he refered to, but I like watching him. We'll.certainly know more what this team is made of come Saturday morning.

"What Jess wrote."

Truly, Jess, you covered this just right ... and I agree with you leaving OUT all the very good QB play. (Each , QB1, 2 & 3 played really well.)

Late in the 3rd Quarter, I think it was Brooks who fought for a 1st Down. The broadcast used a low camera angle for some reason.

What I *loved* was seeing (I think it was Carroll) after a very helpful block, fist-pumping like crazy in the background. That kind of pride in your teamwork was ... inspiring!

Nice writeup, Jess. I like your comments about Brooks in the slot. I know they want to move Williams around to create mismatches, but he's much more effective outside. I'd prefer to see Brooks in the slot and Williams out wide.
