I have a strong feeling this is going to be version 1 of the 2013 college football upset weekend. I don't know who, but I predict at least 2 to 3 big ones. (and the Tide ain't one of 'em).

I just don't think Florida has a shot in Baton Rouge. Mizzou has a shot if Gurley is still out. Arky I'm not so sure on, you never know with that bunch. I just don't see Washington hanging after what Stanford did to them but who knows these days.

If the Fla LSU game was in Florida, I might take the Gators straight up, but just not sure a new starter can get it done in Baton Rouge, even in a day game. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Missouri take a depleted Georgia team. That may be the best 11 a.m. game of the year.

We usually get a week around this point of the season where the pretenders get culled then the "big game" shake ups in November.

I'll give Florida a shot, even if it is in Baton Rouge.
1. They're #2 in total defense
2. LSU is 43 rd in total defense going against a relatively unkown and mobile QB in Murphy.

I may be wrong, but I'm not sold on Mettenberger just yet. The best 2 defenses he has faced were TCU (32nd in total "D") and Miss. St. (36th).

If it were a night game in red stick I might agree on FL. Even then their home field advantage is way over blown. As for Wash and Ore, Wash beat Stanford everywhere but the scoreboard. Take away Stanford's opening kickoff return and they win that game.

Why would anyone give Ole Miss a chance against a rested A&M?

Mizzou can totally beat Jawja regardless of the spread.

UW is going to give Oregon all they want today. They're a different team at home and they probably should have won at Stanford.

Mizzou over UGA long shot. Ark over SC medium shot. FL over LSU could happen. Washington and Oregon may be interesting. Your turn....

I don't think it'll be an upset Saturday. I thought that was gonna be last week and there were some close games but it just never materialized. Looking at the possibilities:

Mizzou @ UGA--I know about the injuries and I know the Richt/Murray history with big games but I'm telling ya....UGA is a team with some resolve. Those boys are on a mission to get back to ATL and, while they aren't talking trash or even saying anything about it, I bet they are dying for another shot at us. No way UGA loses here.

OU Texas-Texas has nothing. OU is playing well. Just the kind of game Big Mouth Bob is known to lose. I wouldn't bet any money on it, though.

SC @ Arkansas. I can easily see Arkansas winning this one but it would be an upset mostly in terms of rankings. USCe is, IMHO, highly over rated.

Florida @ LSU. In the swamp I might bite on this but not in Baton Rouge. LSU by 14+.

NW @ Wisconsin. Here's the game I'd bet on. NW gives up another 4th quarter lead when they had the OSU on the ropes. NW could come out flat and uninspired.

Oregon @ Washington-Washington has looked good against not-so-good competition but Oregon has looked GREAT against not-so-good competition. I'd be surprised if Washington has the athletes to pull this off.

Stanford @ Utah. I look for Stanford to roll.

A&M @ UM-A&M by.....a lot. UM is bad. A good crop of talented, young athletes but not much leadership and not much heart. A&M by 21+.

I actually believe Washington has a very good chance of beating Oregon, spread teams struggle with power teams cause its something they aren't prepared for. So the game against Stanford was harder to control. It'll be flash versus flash!

I think the Jorts beat the corn dogs
Jawga may be to bang up so I won't be surprised if Mizzou wins but at Jawga I'm not predicting it.
Arky beats SC
would like to see the ducks go down but Washington not that good.

Getting toward the middle of the season, lots of tired and beat up teams, programs getting into the meat of their conference schedules - yeah, it is time for the "upsets" to begin. I put upsets in quotes because some of them won't really be upsets. Some of them will simply point out teams that were over or under rated.

This is when college football really starts to get interesting and we begin to get a real feel for the teams that are going to be in contention at the end of the year..

I agree about it being Upset Weekend.... I normally work Saturdays and miss college football. Started my vacation this morning and was looking forward to the slate of games being played today.. only to find out I have to spend the day with my girlfriend and her boys.. Needless to say, I am a bit "upset"
