Okay, it is off-season, but this just popped up in my youtube feed. I do not have any particular affinity for UW football. Nothing against them, just not my team, but man, what a quarter this guy had.
If you like smash-mouth running backs, watch this one young man has a whale of a 1st quarter 305 total yards 3 TDs and 83 yards and a TD receiving, in one quarter. His running style reminds me of Alexander the Great. Dillon is skilled at. getting a DB to commit one direction, then cutting behind him heading another.
Watching a tailback pound the rock with skill and power is a beautiful thing to watch.
Also, look at the size of the shoulder pads.

Meh, you're right.

But it was San Jose State.

FWIW - this is the week after Shaun Alexander the Great ran for 296 yards against a team that in their other ten games averaged giving up 138 yards rushing. San Jose State gave up an average of 229 ypg against LOUSY backs all season long.

Yes, it was a great accomplishment; after all, not every back they played did that and Dillon WAS a solid NFL pro player for 10 seasons, once led the league in rushing and won a Super Bowl ring. But I would say Shawn's game the week before against a much better defense was more powerful, too.

1997 is one of my least memorable CFB seasons and I do not remember this even happening.

But I do remember Corey Dillon from his NFL career and he was a really good RB.

I’ll lean towards this being more impressive a feat than not because you can’t even rush for 300 yards in 1qtr in a video game.

Plus hey he had a great nickname too.

“Clock Killin’” Corey Dillon

Edit: I now realize this was 1996… I still don’t remember it though…lol

Haven't seen a performance like that since Al Bundy was dominating for Polk High.
What's hilarious is I now live in Chicago, and Polk Street runs right behind my hospital.

There is no Polk High, but Manley Career Academy High School is a block away from Polk.

And the Bundy house is at 641 Castlewood Lane up in Deerfield about 30 miles north of me.
